[open] optional: sunrise catch-all
CHARACTERS: everybody who wants to enjoy a shred of actual success/is really tired of this whole 'eternal darkness' thing.
DATE: evening of jan 24-morning of the 25th
WARNINGS: schmoop, probably.
SUMMARY: the sun's back, come say hi AKA sunrise mingle/catch-all

[ Thanks to everyone's hard work and following Rick's, er...enthusiastic performance, the stars are back in the sky after four long months. Goblins and humans are out of their homes, cheering in the streets despite the cold that still grips the city. It's winter, the night will be long yet, but hope feels real now.
Bars and pubs will be open and raucous until dawn; people have tracked out whatever leftover supplies remained from the festival of illumination and strung up lights by their open windows. The atmosphere is certainly lively, but how long will it last?
The sun breaks in the west at around half past seven. Might want to get a good spot to watch. ]
[[OOC: got mod permission for the elements of this log! thanks mods. this log is purely optional for anyone who wants to react to the sun being back. art by nathan fowkes. ]]

SUN SALUTATION

wildcard all up in dis
The canine had yet to make any audible barking sounds, or much sound at all, really, besides what came of panting or moving, but the sound of its rapid approach from behind would betray it. That and... Sieglinde's voice.]
Kidaaaaa-
[The greeting turned into a shriek of something halfway frightened and halfway still quite fun, as Isengrim streaked past the Atlantean... then turned on a less than perfect dime to grind to a halt in front of her, Sieglinde... barely clinging to it's back, hands fisted desperately around it's collar and thin leg's clamped tight at its shoulders.
This was not a smooth ride, but at least it was over, and she half-slide from the beast's back as it lept up to greet Kida itself.]

The sun, Sieglinde! The sun is back!
[ Her eyes are red--not from weeping, but from straining to look at the sun too long. ]
[[ ooc. idk if you wanted this at night or not but i made it day, i can edit! ]]

Sieglinde thought to pick herself up off the cobblestones, from the sprawl of legs and useless feet and long skirts and palms behind her, but she gets distracted momentarily by Kida's smile. It was so happy, and of course other people were happy, too, and so was she, but-
It's not often you get to see someone see something like that for the first time. It's the same sort of expression she'd worn herself, to see the world outside of her village. Something new, and exciting, and a mirrored expression slowly blooming on her own face as the older woman's happiness rubbed off on her.]
It's back!
[... Even if she slept through the actual sunrise, it was still important. Still a success. Even if she momentarily forgot to pick herself up off the street, Isengrim nipping at her sleeve.]

Bogimkem! We did it, little one!
[ She peppers Sieglinde's face and hair with excited, quick kisses, pressing the girl against her front. ]
Ah, this light is so good! And warm!
[ She's almost sweltering in her fur, in comparison to before. ]

She looked so beautiful that it stunned Sieglinde to silence, just laughing as she's spun about, as the light catches on Kida's hair, illuminates her smile. Her happiness was contagious, and she felt it bubbling up in her likewise.
What could you say, to match the first sight of such light?]
What will you do?
[Everything was new now, wasn't it? She wanted to bask in that newness, soak it up as much as the sun's rays.]

I am going to walk the city. To see everything in the light of the sun. All the colours are so different! I want to see them all.
[ She tugs on the edge of Sieglinde's velvet dress, watching it shift like oil. ]
You see? And your hair! You are so pale! Everything is changed.
[ She seems pleased to bring Sieglinde along for the ride, if nothing else. Isengrim gets a pat on the hip to encourage him to come along. ]

We shall accompany you on this intrepid quest!
[Though she was a child yet, she actually acted it fully for a moment, one hand on Kida's head for balance and the other arm raised to point forward, as if about to head a charge on her... well. Kida was about the noblest steed one could get, seeing as she was a princess.]
Come along, Isengrim!
[And the skull-faced canine seems more than willing to follow one of his favorite smelling people, giving a silent bark.
Tally ho.]
