Something good comes with the bad
CHARACTERS: Gaius
stickyfingers and Chihiro
onethousen and Gaius
stickyfingers and Sabo
ryusoken
DATE: First few days of November
WARNINGS: Possible violence in the thread with Sabo. Possible stupidity in the thread with Chihiro.
SUMMARY: Gaius and Chihiro practice pitching tents and making fires. Hilariously, all skills that are going to be needed after the Saloon fire. Sabo and Gaius take the 'We don't need no stinking badges' bounty in order to make some extra cash together.
November 2nd - Late Evening - Sabo
[It's definitely no early morning when he waits just outside the saloon for a certain fire-wielding not-pirate to show up. He's still not too sure what to expect--he's worked alongside weirder people to get jobs done before, but none quite so... sunshiney looking as this guy had seemed to be over the network.
While some of the bounties up for grabs were more of the fetch-and-collect type, none of them really caught Gaius' eyes despite how he wanted the extra cash for extra food and sweets expenditures.
Damn rifle costing so much money in the first place.
Either way, the bounty he's picked out for them after all was a pretty straight forward one--find and take care of a group of bandits that are causing trouble for the locals. He himself used to be a bandit--so he's no stranger to the types of practices they take up or where they might be hiding.
It'd be easy enough, so long as this Sabo guy was up for the task.
When he sees the blonde finally approaching, he waves his arm at the guy.]
Hey there. Certainly took your sweet time, didn't you? [It's a tease, mostly.]
November 3rd - Early Afternoon - Chihiro
[Maybe it was a bit of a fool's work, actually making a conscious effort to collect up the necessary items needed to camp out in the desert of Perdition's Rest. Especially while there was a perfectly working Inn he's already got a room bought and paid for.
But he's made a promise, and while he's certainly a criminal, he's not a man who breaks a promise once it's made. Thief or not, he had his pride.
Wrangling up a proper tarp that could make a good tent was easy enough, and so was finding rope; not that he's going to be telling Chihiro he's pinched these things from a certain group of Bandits he'd helped clear up just the day before. Thus, he felt as if he has a damn good start for the modest lesson in the most important but simple of survival skills:
Finding a place to sleep, and finding a way to keep warm.
Next to the pile of tarp, sticks, nails and rope is an odd-looking bucket shaped like a jack-o-lantern. Who knows what used to be inside it, but right now it's filled with kindling, dry grass, and some long dry sticks. It was a perfect little container for carrying around fire-making items, after all.
All that was left was waiting for the girl to show up. He'd messaged her earlier in the day with where to meet him, and he wasn't too far from the inn, after all--he wanted to show her how to camp out properly, he wasn't going to get her all lost out in the wilderness of the honestly dangerous planet, after all.
He had some sense, it looks like.]

Sup? my bad.. didn't know you'd be waiting long. [He looks at Gaius as he says so, with a shine of a grin. There's no mistaken how rested he was. He walks outside and down the steps of the saloon, and peers around the area.]
So bandits, huh? [He takes out his pipes and swings it around, taking no mind of how it could the nearby recruit.] Dare I say it'd be like fighting your own brethen? [He chuckles in gesture, not even caring how much of a remark that was.]
