EVENT ★ THE HEIST
THE HEIST ![]() THE GALA The atrium is packed with wealthy attendees decked out in their finest, most ostentatious clothing; most of the guests are the humanlike native Borivoskans, though there are a few aliens at the gala as well. A string quartet plays unfamiliar but beautiful music that floats throughout the atrium underneath the sound of chattering. Almost everyone seems friendly, and some might try to strike up a conversation. Aside from the guests, there are waiters with plates of hors d'oeuvres both strange and familiar. They come from all across the galaxy, and they’re all delicious. There's conversation, drinks, and dancing in the atrium, but guests are allowed to break off from the party and explore the rest of the museum as well. Each of its finest pieces of history are on display, accompanied by roaming staff who are more than happy to share interesting facts about them. And if you want to get away from the crowds, there are a few enclaves off the atrium where one can have a bit of privacy. MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE ![]() Those assigned to remain in the gala should stay where they are (along with those who were not assigned a job). It's here that recruits must keep eyes and ears off the rest of the team as they split off into groups and seek out a path to the stolen Vyri diamond. Mingle, make friends, and drink -- but stay alert, since you never know when you'll need to distract a nosy guard or a curious partygoer. Keep suspicion off your teammates and it'll be smooth sailing. The seven teams assigned to make their way to the Vyri diamond have a number of options. George has provided maps of the museum along with suggested routes, though recruits are under no obligation to follow his directions; the only things you need to do are avoid cameras, guards, and raising too much suspicion, and steal the diamond back to complete your mission. How each team proceeds through the museum is up to players, but we have a few suggested paths:
But it's too late. No matter where each Audentes recruit is, whether they're at the gala or fleeing from the museum or on the other side of town, they'll suddenly be hit by an immobilizing beam of white light. It's blinding and terrifying, and those who struggle too much will find themselves blacking out into unconsciousness. Somewhere in the distance, the native gala attendees scream. And then -- To be continued . . . OOC NOTES ![]() As noted in this post, application acceptance and processing will be closing 18 June, to be reopened 5 August. In addition, hiatus missions and ALASTAIR-provided AC bank rewards will be closed 18 June to 20 August. Please direct all questions about Leramzen to this thread. Questions about the game in general should be directed to the FAQ. You may submit mission ideas or player plots at any time. COMING SOON: Dedicated hiatus mission page, mission summaries, and more! |

[Giorno's quite cheerful saying this. Is it an excuse? Oh, absolutely; he's certain on that count. Anyone who assists in a crime is culpable in it. But he does want the help.]
But if we don't have your help, someone might get hurt, and I really don't want that.
[Which is earnest! Just not the whole story of Giorno's motivations. Trust and believe, he is here to S★T☆E★A☆L.]
no subject
In response, her frown only deepens, twitching in attempt not to snarl.]
As if that exonerates me?
[The man she had pledged her service to had bid her cooperate, but...]
I am no thief, and I shall not be made one.
no subject
Are you content to be a bystander to violence, then? Neither stepping in to stop us nor to help? I'd think that's worse than theft, but then again I don't know you that well. Besides, ALASTAIR seems to think this is necessary.
[Also for the record, Giorno doesn't give a shit what ALASTAIR wants, but. He wants to see her reaction, although he's got a hunch what it might be.]
no subject
[Only the orders of her lord had brought her here, given her this amount of... cooperative spirit, and it obviously isn't much at all.]
If my life, or yours-
[This is punctuated by a condescending look at the people around them, several of which, to a buff seven-foot tall centaur, look quite weak.]
Is under threat I shall take action. But I will lend no hand to stealing.
[Directly, anyway.]
no subject
[Well, the uncharitable part of his mind can't help but whisper lip service. Neither here nor there. Not that he'd say as much to someone so clearly dangerous, who so clearly thinks him helpless.]
You're putting yourself in a great deal of danger for a group you clearly think is comprised of terrible people.
no subject
You have my lord's compassion to thank for that.
[Not hers, if she possessed any. (Time would tell on that front.)]
no subject
[Oh, and now he's really interested. He glances up at her, at her expression, at her body language, and finally tempers his expression to curiosity rather than something quite so sharp-toothed.]
Someone from home came with you? That's got to be a relief.
no subject
[But she represented him now, and he her, a bond forged in the confusion and hopelessness of Oska, and it is only that which keeps her spine straight and her hands down, cooperating even this much with these activities.]
no subject
[Giorno goes quiet for a moment, solemn. The grin is gone, probably to Hayame's relief. He's considering his next step.]
[And then, perhaps to his own surprise, he presses his palm to his chest and bows his head briefly.]
He's a man well worth anyone's respect, I think.
no subject
Any who know of him understand this truth.
[He was exactly the sort of lord she had dreamed of serving, once upon a time, when she'd been younger and more naive. Noble, fair, kind, and strong- more a fairytale than a real war general.]
If you are counted amongst them, I shall see to your survival- but no more.
