CHARACTERS: Haise Sasaki
pursuit and anybody.
DATE: After the holiday festivities have concluded.
WARNINGS: Horror canons. Terrible things.
SUMMARY: Keeping busy in Oska.
Kitchens
[It's not uncommon to find Haise occupying the kitchens. And because he's made arrangements to give lessons to some of his associates, he makes an effort to make himself more available there. In the early evening he ducks right behind the counter and goes about the routine of flipping through the recipe book for cooking with friends that ALASTAIR provided him, sizing up which might be appealing on a given day, before he sets to work.
So it is that he can be found pulling out ingredients for dinner-appropriate dishes, humming as he goes. The tunes vary, some as simple as jingles from commercials he vaguely remembers overhearing, recognizable to other people from the same era in Japan that he comes from. Whether anyone shows up or not, he can't always gauge, but he always waits a while before he sets about preparing food.
Of course, one could simply come in and grab a plate when he's done, too. It's not like he's ever seen to eat any of what he makes]
Training Room
[Regardless of how demanding their last mission was, Haise still makes a point of hitting the training room. Back when he was new, his first visit to the place hadn't ended particularly well, but now his visits come with the familiarity of routine. Strange as the technology is, he's at least become accustomed to it, and anyone paying much attention to the room's usage might notice the way he shows up like clockwork every morning.
It's on one such morning that the environment populated around him is one of concrete, rather than any setting familiar to their missions. One might liken it to an abandoned office building, the Tokyo skyline recognizable beyond its windows, and the way Haise stalks the halls suggests that he expects something to spring out at any moment.
For those from a more mundane version of Earth, or at least familiar with such structures, it might be a very odd thing to walk in on]
Training Room: Shizuo
[At the agreed-upon time, Haise makes his way to the training room to meet Shizuo. It's a time that falls outside of his routine, and he half-expects the room might be occupied when he gets there. When he finds it vacant however, he enters and leaves the door open, carrying his quinque at his side. He doesn't know whether it's going to be useful while they figure out Shizuo's unique new weapon, but it seems better to be prepared just in case.
While he waits, he ponders how best to make use of something like a stop sign. At least he comes from an organization armed with strange and unique gear, even if none of it happens to be quite like that. The first step is probably seeing how Shizuo would handle such a thing if left to his own devices, and testing its durability...
ALASTAIR certainly has an interesting idea of what to bestow upon its recruits]
Library
[One of his favorite places to be is the library, and that's something that will surely never change. As he has many times before, Haise hunkers down at a quiet table with a pile of books, and soon enough is engrossed in reading. He seems quite bent on this and nothing else, except if one lingers in the area long enough, there comes a sharp, wooden snap from time to time.
While he reads, Haise idly snaps a pencil, only to repair it with a spell and break it all over again. This exercise doesn't seem to demand very much of his focus, though his reading is slower than it normally would be, because it does take some. Since he knows no one else with this particular line of magic, he's devised his own ways of exercising the ability.
Hopefully no one needs total silence in order to enjoy their reading]
