( every success he lands only makes him move faster. he's not moving thoughtfully, or carefully. no, he's blinded to anything but what it'll take to get closer, to make good on his overwhelming desire to silence his hunger. there's no glimmer left of the kid that had begged her to stay away, clearly not, when all he seems to want is to close the distance.
understandably, Aqua doesn't seem inclined to be near him anymore.
he lands where she should have fallen, though the electricity keeps him from chasing after. a good thing, because any sense he'd had seems to have completely faded away. even before the barrier fades, he starts to chase after, skittering across the floor like an insect over anything human, his warning sense clangs in the back of thoughts. he has no idea where the projectiles came from, but he certainly doesn't want to find out how much they'll hurt.
Aqua isn't the only one with evasive maneuvers. he's injured, but not incapable of movement. in fact, it's almost hard to believe how easily he manage to avoid most of the damage with unbelievable twists and jumps. most, not all — at least one lands, and while it's not deadly it's certainly enough that he doesn't want it to happen twice. he leaps to the wall, sticking there just about as easily as he stuck to the ice, watching the target still on the ground with rather intimidating intent.
all in all, she's proven to be more troubling a target than expected. he's already injured, he's already faced more resistance than he was expecting. the long heartbeats that he watches over moving are a careful consideration of whether she's worth the effort.
he must decide that she's not, turning his attention to crawl up the wall and out of sight. Aqua can fight back, and he's run into plenty of targets that can't. he won't attack again unless she tries to stop him from escaping... and when he moves fairly quickly himself, it won't be easy. )
