The Green Witch is bound to the village and to the manufacture of the Ultimate Magic. My ancestor gifted the wolves of the wood her legs in return for their protection, and all daughters of her blood honored that pact.

[Gently, she knocks her toes together, explaining why her feet had been bound. (At least, the version she'd been raised on.) She doesn't feel it as strongly as she knows she's supposed to, but. It was something.]

I was not to leave, but to live there and create the magic, and bear my own daughter to continue the work when the time came.
