You can't make someone do something that they don't want to do, especially if they're the one that made the mistake in the first place. What if he made it worse? [It's not that he's arguing with her about Luke Skywalker. He's not even projecting as much here, so much as actually empathizing with the other side of it. Rey has been so ... hurt by Luke that she's been losing sight of other perspectives and viewpoints. She used to be better at that. He believes he can help her again. Maybe. Hopefully.]

I think you were right to decide to try to save Ben when he wouldn't. I don't think it's a good idea to do it because he won't. You can't make a decision based on what someone else can't or won't do. I think—Loki would say you're tying them down and yourself down. You can't do that to yourself. It's hurting you.
