[He blurts it out before she has a chance to pull away entirely, that fear rising in his throat again. This is uncharted territory for him, and though a piece of him yells for distance, a stronger voice doesn’t want to offer it.
And while they war, he clears his throat and forces out an amendment, in an attempt to appease both halves of his crumbling willpower.]

[He remembers the last time he let a jedi anywhere near his sleeping space. Its something of a test for both of them. Could they stand one another’s company for that long or were they kidding themselves? Was the trust they were claiming born of something true, or something desperate?
