I WANNA START A FIGHT RIOTS In the time between the quarantine and now, the virus has spread unnaturally rapidly, with the amount of the population infected estimated to be around 1.5% or approximately 3,750 people. Understandably, the panic has increased considerably. People who were taking the virus seriously before have begun to work themselves up into a frenzy, and even those who were calm are beginning to get anxious. An infected teacher went on a violent rampage at the local elementary school yesterday, leading the school board to close all Woodhurst schools for the rest of the week while the entire staff is studied for symptoms. There’s no test for the Bristol virus, however, so it’s impossible to tell for sure. This, of course, worries the parents. The unrest starts with a protest at the school, calling for schools to be closed indefinitely until the quarantine is over for the safety of the children, but it doesn’t stop there. Unrest turns to rioting before long; the majority of the riot is focused at city hall, where citizens are demanding answers, but there’s also mayhem at stores as the people of Woodhurst loot them, stocking up for what some assume is an impending apocalypse. Those who don’t believe this have locked themselves up in their homes not for protection from the infected but the rioters. Suffice it to say, most of the citizens out on the streets are of the slightly unstable variety, although some just found themselves caught up in the riots and became worked up by the crowd. Local police forces -- including ALASTAIR agents posing as police officers -- have been dispatched to deal with the rioters at city hall. Rioters who attempt to leave the city are taken care of by officers sent by the federal government to enforce the quarantine. CHOOSE YOUR OWN ADVENTURE It might be a good idea to see what supplies can be found at the supermarkets, although you run the risk of getting attacked by a violent looter. The police won’t necessarily turn away anyone trying to keep order at city hall, but any supernatural powers will only incite the already violent crowd, so it’s recommended characters keep from utilizing their powers if they want to stay in one piece. Then, of course, there’s always the option to protect innocents who happen to be stuck out on the streets in the middle of the riots. While the entirety of the police force is focused at the quarantine borders and outside city hall, now is possibly one of the only chances to get full access to buildings in the city. There are still some workers who haven’t been sent home and some of the buildings are locked up, but there are few police officers that can be spared to go check out a simple break-in. Now is the time to search the city, if you're feeling brave. If you’re really ballsy, you can even try to slip in through the back door of city hall and go through their records. The only important building in town that’s not able to be searched is the hospital, which is incredibly busy due to the high number of people injured in the riots and traffic accidents. Of course, just because rioters aren’t around doesn’t mean you’ll be left alone. There’s always a chance you’ll find yourself alone in a building with someone very hungry. Willing to take the chance? Submit your CYOA choices here. Given the time frame, it's likely characters will only be able to choose one of the following:

If they stay at the riot, they can help maintain order and get in good standing with the city government, but risk making enemies with rioters and lose the opportunity to search elsewhere.

If they choose to loot the supermarket, they'll be able to grab all the supplies they can carry -- anything that would reasonably be sold at Wal-Mart -- but will also be surrounded by other looters, some violent, who might physically fight them over items and could possibly transfer infection to them.

If they choose to search the city, they'll have their choice of the following: city hall, the Woodhurst Watch HQ, the schools, the library, and the sewers for information about the virus. However, they run a high risk of running into one of the infected and will need to kill, subdue, or somehow escape them to leave with their information.

Lilith's priorities are on self-preservation at all times, so she's going to loot the supermarket for anything useful she can carry. you have to take advantage of item drops when you can, ok???

While she'll be putting emphasis on grabbing things obviously key to survival-- non-perishables, water if she can manage, painkillers and other over-the-counter medicines-- she'll also be keeping an eye out for things that could be feasibly used as a weapon. She's also not afraid to use force if interrupted: she'll be carrying her pistol concealed. She will make an attempt at operating non-lethally unless it's a life-or-death situation (thanks, fugo)... in which case, she'll be shooting to kill without hesitation.

Asher will be tackling city hall, specifically to search for legal records regarding certain events that were reported in the newspapers (the protests, the first outbreak, etc.). He suspects that this is the result of foul play, or some act of bio-terrorism. As a result, he is searching for inconsistencies between various reports, as he wonders if there's anything the government is trying to cover up.

He will avoid intentional killing of the infected and attempt to operate non-lethally, although he's by no means an expert in combat. While he is armed with brass knuckles and a hunting knife, it is also likely that he'd use things around him as weapons (metal crowbars, debris from falling buildings, etc). That being said, if attacked, his own survival takes first priority. Also, it is likely that he will not be doing this alone.

Daenerys will get caught up outside during the riots and try to protect as many innocents as she comes across on the streets by shepherding other people to shelter with her, any she can grab or urge along. She'd seek out anything that looked available and defensible, door required. If successful, she would hunker down and shelter in place and keep anyone with her on guard until it blew over.

She's armed with a fierce sense of determination and something she'd be able to snatch up off the street from the riot, like maybe a broken bottle.

Miles will be heading to city hall. He's been living in-and-out of the archives at the local libraries in search of information about Woodhursts's outbreak, and will be looking for corresponding administrative records. He'll most likely be searching for information regarding patient zero, those who came into contact with him and any information related to the "source" of the outbreak.

In dealing with the infected, Miles will primarily be following his usual pattern of running/sneaking around. He's willing to find "alternative routes", if possible and he will do his best to avoid intentionally killing or harming the infected, but due to the nature of his digital companion, if his life is openly and unavoidably threatened, he will not be able to stop some degree of reactionary violence!

Sakura will go for searching the school, figuring she would be less suspicious if someone saw her there given her age. Specifically, she'd probably try check the classroom the infected teacher taught in or somewhere like the staffroom if it's unlocked, that she wouldn't ordinarily have access to.

If she runs into any infected, she'd either try restrain them using her Windy card, or try trap/trip them somehow to then run the other direction. She isn't trying to kill them or harm them if she can help it, at least. If necessarily, she'll try draw attention by blowing the whistle Graham gave her to get help if she needs to.

On instinct, Yaalu's going to check out the sewers. You'd be amazed at the things you can find hiding in places like that!

Now, if only sewers weren't long tubes with limited places to hide... Like a particularly railroad-y dungeon crawl. He's going unarmed--he's got more concern for accidentally killing Bristol victims than concern for himself, but he's not exactly vulnerable without a weapon. In any encounter where he can get away with it, he'll use nonlethal force. Nothing like giving last rites in a rat-infested cistern.

...Nothing he hasn't done before, in other words.

Twisted Fate is definitely looting the supermarket.

He's interested in getting food and medicine, but may not really have an eye for non-perishables. He will also probably try to palm some expensive-ish looking items for himself, even if that includes looting another person in the meanwhile because he's a thief who likes to treat himself.

Kung Jin will attempt to search the city with others, but get separated from his group and get caught up in the riots in the process! Oops.

He'll be leading as many innocents to safety as he possibly can, until it becomes completely unsafe around the riot area. As he's combat-capable, he'll be fighting defensively to protect them whenever accosted; as his weapon is definitely supernatural-looking, though, he'll be unarmed and stuck using martial arts until he comes across a makeshift weapon. Probably a pipe or some other sort of debris he can use as a blunt weapon/staff.

Also, in spite of his earlier warnings on the network, Jin won't be killing anyone as long as he can help it: any infected will be subdued non-lethally.

Hanzo will get ballsy and try to check Woodhurst Watch HQ for any potential info on his own. He'll be confident in his ninja skills in searching attempting to get any kind of information.

Arima is gonna continue his search in the library for any clues or updates about the virus. Maybe looking into the library's archives to see if there's a past incident or something involving the hospital and stuff.

Rocky is a dirty cheater (aka robot) so he's up for exploring gross and dangerous places, such as the sewers, for info. If he encounters any infected there, he will try to escape or subdue them non-lethally. But if there are some who are especially tenacious and not put off by the taste of metal, he might just stop and put them out of their misery for good.

Inspired by the "I'm a Creep" bounty, Keith will be headed into the sewers in his paladin gear. He knows this would out him, but he's taking a safe bet and the safe bet is "not ending up dead." (Given that he'll look like a Voltron pilot or a power ranger, I'm down for the people in the sewers being like "what the fuck.") Keith will be going down with the assumption of getting answers, so he won't have his bayard out, but he will duck, cover, and summon it (and his shield) if things go awry. He does have the tranquilizer from Lance (thanks to Sonia) on hand if anyone gets too close before he gets out of dodge. His goal is not to kill, but to get intel and any fighting will be to make it so he can disengage.

That said, if it does seem like he can get information, he will ... at least try very hard: and probably get banged up in the process.

Fugo will be heading for the library! He's largely interested in rooms that the public wouldn't be allowed access to, old storage rooms, and administrative offices. He's looking for any out-of-place records and information about the virus, if any. If he can find/access library card information, he'll be looking up any Bristols; any addresses associated with their names, what sort of books they were checking out, etc. etc.

If he encounters anyone violent, Fugo will first try to flee. But if he's backed into a corner, he will fight back with any sort of makeshift weapon he can find on hand or, in the case of an infected person, the sedative.

rhys and shiro are gonna check out the woodhurst watch hq, looking for any tip-offs sent to them or articles that haven't been published yet, etc. basically, just snooping around for anything that is not yet available to the public pertaining to the virus sufferers that might show similarities between them all.

if they get attacked, shiro can protect rhys with his strong manly arms.

Dipper will be searching the city, in particular Woodhurst Watch! Because he wants to see if a reporter has the real juicy deets JUST LIKE IN THE MOVIES. I should probably clarify like, not an actual person, you know like paper/computer files... Maybe something about the virus' origin, what progress (if any) there's been on any sort of cure, trying to find out if there's been other important names related to the virus somehow that isn't widely/publicly known... In general, he's snooping around in hopes of making progress in the mission, but finding nothing but the latest sudoku puzzle that never got around to getting published isn't a total loss, probably.

If any infected are around Dipper will RUN LIKE HECK because no thank you, he's done this zombie thing before and look how well that went. But if it comes down to it, hopefully there's useful debris/objects sitting around to defend himself long enough to blow that joint, there's no killing happening here!

Reika and Julius will be heading to the sewers to see what they can find. They have their GE uniforms in under their civilian clothes (these are durable fabric designed to resist giant monster bites as well as extreme temperatures) and have blunt weapons + a knife in case it's needed. If they run into infected, their priority would be to subdue them non-lethally. Given their superhuman strength, they'll try to knock the infected unconscious or use the tranquilizer that Lance and Sonia gave them (two in total) and not kill unless absolutely necessary.

Fiona will be lurking around the sewers and incidentally looking for clues while she works on bounties. She left her shotgun in Oska in order to """fit in""" with the locals, but she still has her derringer with her in case things go bad. While she will be attempting to subdue non-lethally, if she gets swarmed or if she feels like she's in enough danger, she won't hesitate to kill.

As Emma is on the police force and determined to help people she will stay at the riot to protect anyone who needs her. She'd be especially careful to look out for anyone who can't protect themselves and to get them out of dangerous situations, and to try to maintain the order and safety of all.

Surprising no one, Kaz and Jesper are going to try and loot the supermarket. They'll bring bags with them (smart and economically contentious, these are some nice criminal teens) and try and grab stuff. Their priorities are metallic kitchen objects (cutlery but also things that are metal in general they maybe know someone who can do things with metal i guess), medicine and bandages. Neither of them will have any problem fighting back or killing if they get caught up, sorry rest of the team.

Due to his affinity to shadow, Elias is going to split from the chaos and go and investigate the sewers. While doing so, he is going to use his ability to melt into the shadows and move very quickly, looking for anything out of the normal. Should he encounter anything, he will assume his physical form and try to inspect it. Also, should he run into any undue trouble while his investigating, he will use his magical ability to harness the shadows of the underground to cling to his attacker(s) and immobilize them so he can get away without harm coming to his assailant.

Polnareff is going to search the city, specifically the schools. He's looking for innocents left behind or cornered, and so moves loudly, trying to attract as much attention to himself as possible.

If rushed, his first instinct will be to subdue an infected person, but if they're an adult, he isn't above killing them (only if he has absolutely no other choice, though).

Mettaton is intent at making himself look good, so he's going to be searching Woodhurst Watch, since he. You know. Works there. As he's been chatting with Peridot, he's come to the most dramatic conclusion (thanks, movies): there's foul play somewhere here. He's trying to find any notes or reports that contradict what was actually printed and signs of a hush-up.

Since his desires are far from harming humans, he'll most definitely be trying to subdue any infected. He's kind of a walking stun-gun, after all, and will at most be zapping anyone that attacks him.

Also hugs and singing. Very comforting.

Peridot, like Rocky, will be taking advantage of her inorganic body and hitting the sewers, because WHY NOT... this will turn out to be a mistake, because gross.

Any infected she comes across, she will try to interrogate loudly and vehemently even if they don't want to or CAN'T communicate with her and she'll just run away screaming if they start trying to hurt her, because while it takes a lot to destabilize her, SHE CAN STILL FEEL PAIN.

Lancer's going by the school to help out on the bounty there, under the guise of Dipper's concerned dad if anyone happens to ask. Since he's there specifically to deal with the infected, he'll probably roam wherever he can, like the main office, nurse's office, etc.

He'll also be going out of his way to pick fights with any infected adults he sees, and is not opposed to lethal force. As for infected children, he'll probably stuff them into lockers or something for safekeeping.
