EVENT ★ I PREDICT A RIOT
I WANNA START A FIGHT ![]() RIOTS ![]() An infected teacher went on a violent rampage at the local elementary school yesterday, leading the school board to close all Woodhurst schools for the rest of the week while the entire staff is studied for symptoms. There’s no test for the Bristol virus, however, so it’s impossible to tell for sure. This, of course, worries the parents. The unrest starts with a protest at the school, calling for schools to be closed indefinitely until the quarantine is over for the safety of the children, but it doesn’t stop there. Unrest turns to rioting before long; the majority of the riot is focused at city hall, where citizens are demanding answers, but there’s also mayhem at stores as the people of Woodhurst loot them, stocking up for what some assume is an impending apocalypse. Those who don’t believe this have locked themselves up in their homes not for protection from the infected but the rioters. Suffice it to say, most of the citizens out on the streets are of the slightly unstable variety, although some just found themselves caught up in the riots and became worked up by the crowd. Local police forces -- including ALASTAIR agents posing as police officers -- have been dispatched to deal with the rioters at city hall. Rioters who attempt to leave the city are taken care of by officers sent by the federal government to enforce the quarantine. CHOOSE YOUR OWN ADVENTURE ![]() While the entirety of the police force is focused at the quarantine borders and outside city hall, now is possibly one of the only chances to get full access to buildings in the city. There are still some workers who haven’t been sent home and some of the buildings are locked up, but there are few police officers that can be spared to go check out a simple break-in. Now is the time to search the city, if you're feeling brave. If you’re really ballsy, you can even try to slip in through the back door of city hall and go through their records. The only important building in town that’s not able to be searched is the hospital, which is incredibly busy due to the high number of people injured in the riots and traffic accidents. Of course, just because rioters aren’t around doesn’t mean you’ll be left alone. There’s always a chance you’ll find yourself alone in a building with someone very hungry. Willing to take the chance? Submit all CYOA choices to this thread. OOC NOTES The Bounty Board is now open! If you are looking for ways to get involved in this mission's optional objective, this is a good place to start. We’d also like to remind everyone that ALASTAIR does not invent cover stories for characters -- that’s all them! The only jobs they’ll help with getting are in the police force and government; everything else is up to characters to interview for. Questions about Woodhurst can be submitted to this thread. Questions about the game in general should be directed to the FAQ. You may submit mission ideas or player plots at any time. |

She needs Rhys because he's her partner, but also because he has a built-in flashlight, though she may have glossed over the last part. And probably the first part too, but more because it's embarrassing than anything else.] Don't just-- shine it down. I need to see where I'm going, [she huffs over her shoulder, because obviously she's going first.]
9 days late with starbucks
Don't worry, I can help you, I'll be your seeing eye dog. It's sewer, sewer, then oh, look, more sewer. [ He's feeling pissy; he's hungry and irritable and he's in the sewer, which would make him pissy even without the hungry and irritable thing. He shines a light in front of her anyway, though, because he's not a total asshole. ] What are we... looking for, exactly.
throws you away
She doesn't punch him yet, though, because she does need his flashlight hand.] Clues. They say infected are living down here, which... you'd think even in the throes of slavering zombiism, you'd be aware of the smell.

I'm mouthbreathing, that helps. [ Because talking about being a mouthbreather is something anyone should do ever??? Whatever, it does help. He furiously tries to wipe an unidentified substance off the heel of his shoe, looking disgusted in the prissiest way possible and falling behind in the process, then jogs a little to catch up. ] I mean. Living in the sewers is probably better than trying to eat people and-or getting shot for trying to eat people. So.
throws myself away now
Well. [She glances back to make sure he's fallen back into step, then continues.] If they're all jammed down here, it's only a matter of time before somebody gets eaten. --oh, don't step in that.
we're in this dumpster together now
He stops, mid-step, and looks down. Carefully, he steps to the side, around the sewer gunk. ] I hate everything about this. [ This isn't a fun date, Fiona!!! This isn't where you take a classy lady (AKA him). ] Sooo, you're not worried that the people getting eaten will be us?
no subject
Please. [It's a very good argument, see how much you can't argue against it.] We have, like, main character immunity. We're not going to get eaten, that's only going to happen to the locals.
no subject
What, you saying that just made us the background characters! It's like saying what could go wrong, saying nothing bad is going to happen definitely means something bad's going to happen. We're the minor characters who get killed at the beginning of the movie now, thanks a lot. But hey, what could go wrong!

If you don't settle the hell down, I'm going to leave you down here. You're being much bitchier than usual -- [She stops talking because there's something weird ahead, some abrupt change in the tunnel's infrastructure, and she cautiously slows her pace.] Is that a cave-in...?

Whatever it is, we can squeeze by it. [The middle isn't fully clogged by FAT yet.] Come on.

She lets him nudge her because of course she is going first, there was no question, carefully moving through the middle opening of the blockage. It's literally just a bunch of lard, it's gross, but at least she manages not to touch any of it. She might hose down her boots later, though.
Turning back around to look at him, she spreads her arms out.] Look, I survived.
no subject
Ohhhh, my god, I touched it. I'm, just. Give me a second, I might puke. Is it in my hair? Check my hair. Are you checking?
no subject
[She pauses, placing her hand on his chest and peering up at his face as best she can in this lighting.] Are you okay? --don't puke on me.
no subject
He takes a moment to fend off the puking, then answers, ] Yeah, no, I'm fine. Just. Traumatized for life, probably. [ Not. He's being a drama queen, as per uszhe. ]
no subject
And then they found a disgusting sleeping bag and a big pack of humans and ran out of here and cried, the end.]
