EVENT ★ WELCOME TO LERAMZEN

WELCOME TO LERAMZEN

After nearly three weeks of "relaxation" in Oska, Audentes is given 48 hours to prepare for their next mission. Right on time, they are rifted to a different dimension, landing them in the futuristic city of Leramzen.

Instead of appearing in a large group, recruits are spread throughout the city center so as not to draw attention to themselves, arriving in isolated areas: behind buildings hidden from the street, in public restrooms, stepping into the street from behind parked cars. The key is to blend in, though the metropolitan nature of Leramzen allows for some wiggle room; the locals see enough country bumpkins from all over the galaxy that they're willing to overlook a faux pas here or there from an obvious tourist.

Recruits have two weeks before the day of the museum heist. During this time, they should contact their mission analyst, George, but the rest is up to them -- a perfect time to explore the luxuries that Leramzen has to offer.

CITY LIFE

Leramzen is a highly cultured city, with many museums and theatres, including its prized Lyushny Theatre which homes the galaxy famous Lyushny Ballet. While the natives of this planet are human, recruits will see a wide variety of other life forms in Leramzen, some humanoid and some most definitely not. Try not to stare!

The generous stipend will more than allow recruits to take in the sights and treat themselves to a luxury meal or two, but of particular interest should be the clothing and jewelry stores found in the city center. There are shops that cater to any style and taste, including a few bespoke tailors that have a convenient turnaround time of two weeks.

In addition to shopping and cultural pursuits, there is an ice rink in the city center, maintained for the long winter season, and horse-drawn carriages that will take passengers on a ride through Leramzen's historic Old Town.

This is also a good chance to observe the State History Museum to get a lay of the land before the mission begins. But remember -- don't draw attention to yourselves, so going in all together might not be a good idea.

Settle in and take in some sights, and get ready -- because when the mission begins, you never know what you'll be in for.

OOC NOTES
Welcome to the new mission! Heist sign-ups are now closed for current players, but all characters accepted after May 21st will still have the opportunity to sign up.

For more information on the mission, please check the dossier and direct all questions about Leramzen to this thread.

Questions about the game in general should be directed to the FAQ and you may submit mission ideas or player plots at any time.

[ bruce would have ranked (3) higher, but a) this is his first ( remembered ) experience with snow and b) he really doesn't give a shit about ties anymore.

that's just him, though.
]

How were you planning to divide the task? Each volunteer a different floor?

[Look, that's why he made a note that it's an unordered list.]

That depends on how many people are up for working together and what their specialties are. Ideally, we should put together some information about the security system as well.

I did too brofist (un: b.w.)

Pairs or small groups would work. Small enough to avoid detection, and working together areas can be canvassed more thoroughly.

Yes, that's about the right of it. We're lucky that the gala is going on as cover; the museum is bound to be full of bumbling tourists.

May I assume that you're interested in participating with this project?

[personal profile] controlling 2017-05-24 01:56 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah. I'll volunteer.

[ it's something bruce can do. accident, apparently, dropped him here. he does not fight; he cannot hack a door. he is the last person that should be stuck in another dimension tasked with the monumental charge of "protecting the timeline." yet, here he is. he does not know how to sit around and wait. ]
unholey: (BANGS ☠ my shoes took me down)

[personal profile] unholey 2017-05-26 04:22 pm (UTC)(link)
Right, thanks. Your assistance is appreciated.

Do you have any particular specialties, or do you just want to pick a section of the building and cover that?

[personal profile] controlling 2017-05-29 02:17 am (UTC)(link)
[ too many specialties to list them all. but he's also unaware of every last one so. ]

I'll cover a given section. Soon as I'm done sketching it out, I'll share it.

[Batman?? What happened to you...]

I'd like to focus our initial efforts on the ground floor, since that's likely to be our entry and exit point. Would you be willing to take on the NW quadrant to start with?

[personal profile] controlling 2017-05-30 01:05 am (UTC)(link)
I'll get back to you with it as soon as possible.

Cool, thanks. I look forward to reviewing your work.

[ he comes into contact again on the next day after a few hours' accompanied exploration. ]

Attached: NW quadrant of the ground floor.

[ drawn in the art program of the magitek is a detailed blueprint. a stupidly detailed blueprint. the space, locations of benches, plants and the artifacts and objects themselves. windows and doorways and passages drawn to scale. ( a handy bar scale painstakingly drawn at the bottom provides the exact numbers. ) added too are all the security measures they could find: cameras, mirrors, gates, each clearly identified. ]

[personal profile] unholey 2017-06-05 04:58 am (UTC)(link)
I've received your attachment; your attention to detail is very helpful. I'll send you an updated version with the rest of the data I've received shortly.

[Later in the .............. well, evening. Most of the time in Leramzen is the evening. But at an odd hour of the morning when most people would be sleeping, Bruce will receive a complete map of the ground floor that's-- well, at least he's not alone in his attention to detail. The end result is a meticulously detailed map with several layers: one is just the building itself, a layer of guard patterns, a layer of security cameras and other measures, a layer of marked off potential entrances and exits.]

[ people sleep? ]

Got it. Thanks.

[personal profile] unholey 2017-06-07 03:34 am (UTC)(link)
You're welcome. Thanks for your help again; mapmaking isn't a skill a lot of people have, so I can't say I was expecting many respondents. I hope you'll find it useful in the upcoming operation.

I'm pretty sure it's a skill taught in school, but thanks.
unholey: (SIGH ☠ all of the ghouls)

[personal profile] unholey 2017-06-07 08:54 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, I'd be willing to bet that geography courses (if that's what you're talking about) didn't cover creating blueprints to that level of detail. But if that's the excuse you want to go with, sure. Whatever. Good job, school system. Gold star.
