CITY SQUARE ( OCT 17 ) Wherever you are, word begins to spread. Whispers, followed by everyone grabbing the nearest thing that could be used as a weapon and heading towards the center of the city. If you follow, you'll walk into an all-out battle.
The fight is mostly fought with fists, but some have blunt weapons, and a rare few have something sharp and shiny in their hands. Whether you want to get involved or not, there are still injured people running past you, and if you get too close, you might find yourself being attacked.
The goblins are friendly only to non-humans and those who have already allied themselves with them. Humans are far more partial to fellow humans. Regardless of what side you're fighting on, partway into the fight, everyone stops. If you aren't careful, you'll find yourself handcuffed before you know it and being carted off to jail.
Those who get away will not find the fight without consequences. All alliances have been cemented now — there is a clear line between the goblins and humans, and you'd better hope you picked the right side in this fight, because that's the side you're on now.
Those who fought for the goblins will no longer be welcome at the Voclain or Abel Inn; if they're staying there, they return to find their things out on the street. Many human vendors will refuse to sell to them, and word will spread fast that they can't be trusted. Those who fought for the humans won't be welcome at the Krozm Boarding House or the outskirts — should they come near, they will be regarded as a threat and treated as such.
JAIL ( OCT 17-18 ) The jail is near the outskirts, far away from the hustle and bustle of the city. You're carted into a small, empty room, containing only a desk and a sizeable cell. Everyone is shoved into the cell, regardless of affiliation. Human allies are treated a bit gentler, but not by much. Once everyone is in, the police leave the room, letting the door swing shut behind them. They come in every once in awhile to check in, but the truth is they don't really care.
The cell is pretty unpleasant to be in. Everyone is shouting and yelling, although they can't physically fight with their hands tied. Only a few people have shrunk into themselves, refusing to speak.
You're here for the next 24 hours. Might as well make the best of it. |

Both races were after him. He had done damage to both of them. ]
Or else what?
[ you'll use your underwear for real? ]

[ He rises up further with his voice, mind going through a multitude of possibilities, ranging from the possible to the totally impossible.
He's not going to say something that Gintoki can argue with him about however, so he just settles for ] Or else you'll see!
[ Incredibly dangerous. Though really the only thing that Gintoki would find himself faced with is more yelling and badgering. ]

[ Gintoki feels like maybe making his voice louder and higher and his font more bold and in italics might bring an end to this but— ]

Cue the dead fish eyes again. ]
Ah. You don't actually know then. That's what you're saying.
Don't do cliffhangers. It's gross. I'm tired of cliffhangers.

I'll come up with something. [ He mutters defensively. Except that discipline isn't really his forte - it's more Mako's thing. Bolin prefers to coddle people he takes under his care.
Then, he reaches out to push a finger into Gintoki's chest. ]
Anyway, you should probably take it easy from now on. Sit the rest of this fight out.

[ Gintoki bats at Bolin's hand when he pushes a finger to his chest. Yeah, Bolin. It depends on who needs his help. ]
Who hired you as my mom? Are you working for somebody? [ his mom is dead you jerk.
and his dad.
and his not-dad but only dad he knew.
Bolin's behavior is suspiciously like some people back in Edo who care for him a great deal and it's annoying. ]
I can't promise anything to you. [ Promises are sort of a big deal to him. ]

[ Gintoki is probably the most frustrating person he knows! He argues way too much, and even for Bolin's boundless energy it can get a bit exhausting. It doesn't help that most of the time he doesn't understand anything that's actually coming out of the other man's mouth.
He leans back on his heels, finally giving Gintoki the space that he'd been craving and throwing his hands up. ]
Fine! Do what you want, it's not like—
[ Something something.
But something more exciting happens to cut off Bolin's stream of complaints. They're spared from a full out assault reminding them of the dire situation outside of their alleyway pissing contest, a man stumbling into the entrance, using one of the walls as support before falling flat on his face.
There's a beat. ]

There's a pause, then Gintoki draws his blade again. ]
It's time for you to run.
[ and him to fight so you can get away.
The determination and confidence in his voice made this sound non-negotiable, and even with his face battered and his open wounds, he still is going to fight.
To protect you and all the other worldhoppers.
He doesn't even sound angry at Bolin anymore. ]

But he's also gotten more reasonable since his youth, so he doesn't argue with Gintoki again, despite his kneejerk reaction that the old man should probably take a backseat in the town-wide brawl.
So his focus shifts: and instead he's kneeling beside the man that had stumbled in, knocked out cold, to pick him up and throw him over his shoulder. As alarming as Gintoki's wounds are, at least he's conscious, which is more than he can say for this man that may not even be alive.
When he stands up again, he frowns at the older man, feeling the need to clarify: ] I'm not running anywhere. [ Permanently anyway. He's going to get this guy somewhere relatively safe and then come right back. ] And remember what I said about getting patched up!
[ Because Gintoki obviously needs a steady stream of reminders, being a grown child. He wastes another moment frowning at his fellow worldhopper, failing to hide his concern under the disapproval before turning, and taking the NPC with him as he exits the scene. ]
