INTRODUCTION. It's difficult to tell time without the presence of a sun or moon. There are no stars. The world is in constant blackness, the heavens barely visible from below and the only light artificial. It's been like this for months. Suddenly, those who expressed interest in observing the sun (or lack thereof) will all at once receive a text message on their ALASTAIR jewellery from 82736775: Get your shit and go look at the sky. Now's the time. If you need me, I'm around. It's time to get to work. OBSERVATION. Find the highest point you can and point the telescopes at the sky. Should be easy, right? Be mindful that there are still guards patrolling the city, looking for escaped prisoners, and some citizens would be very happy to tip them off to your presence. There are still animals in the forests to contend with, and there are still nosey citizens who may ask you too many questions. There are also your fellow ALASTAIR agents, who may not be very willing to share the spot they already staked out before you just showed up. People and animals aren't all you need to look out for, either. Seven hours after the observation starts, there is a lightning storm. It lasts for 30 minutes, bolts of electricity arcing across the sky. It might be a good idea to scurry down someplace lower when this happens -- you know what they say about lightning and height. 82736775 doesn't contact anyone after the initial text, so observers are free to give up whenever they decide they've been sitting out in the freezing dark for long enough. [ note: even if you didn't sign up, feel free to tag in! your character won't have a telescope but that doesn't mean they can't mingle. ]

( it wasn't exactly a secret that he'd be out tonight with Sakura. it felt important to let his roommate know where he was going, especially considering the circumstances of his need of a roommate. he doesn't want her to worry that he's found himself in a new jail cell, some information seemed in order.

he wasn't expecting her to join them, though. he's just gotten a fire going, a ways away from the telescope to keep from obstructing the seeing, when his wolf gave their company away before it even arrived. it was a good thing, though, he needed those senses to avoid guards if they decided to take a round through the woods tonight.

he's pact a fair amount of food for the two of them, determined to make sure Sakura has a good camping experience — it's her first time — but that doesn't mean he misses the gesture. )

That was kind of you. ( the wolf yaps a happy noise in greeting to his friend, even trotting up to see if he'd gotten a snack, too. )

[ olivia's laugh is muffled behind a hand once she's greeted at her heels, though it's quick to drop down and ruffle over the wolf's ears as she's wont to. yes, of course, she's brought enough of a snack for them all, even though she's well aware graham had packed enough to be safe. the basket is full of rolls she'd baked up earlier in the day, so she's making something of a day of it by wandering around gifting them to whomever might need the sustenance. ]

Hello! [ she murmurs a kind greeting to the wolf, stooping down to give him a small roll that she'd stuffed with leftover meat from a few nights ago, before crossing the distance between them to move closer. ]

You must be Sakura. [ she kind of butchers the pronunciation, but she definitely tries.

she holds out one of the sweeter rolls for the young girl. ] Here — snack for you!

[She's pretty sure Graham has made sure there is enough supplies and food for them, when he asked her to join him and experience camping. She just hadn't anticipated if anyone else might join them. But they are hardly the only ones out tonight, so she probably shouldn't be so surprised to see Olivia. She can't help but smile when the wolf gets some too, before she takes to offered roll.]
