SUN SALUTATION

[ Thanks to everyone's hard work and following Rick's, er...enthusiastic performance, the stars are back in the sky after four long months. Goblins and humans are out of their homes, cheering in the streets despite the cold that still grips the city. It's winter, the night will be long yet, but hope feels real now.

Bars and pubs will be open and raucous until dawn; people have tracked out whatever leftover supplies remained from the festival of illumination and strung up lights by their open windows. The atmosphere is certainly lively, but how long will it last?

The sun breaks in the west at around half past seven. Might want to get a good spot to watch. ]

I suppose it can be, sometimes. Some people aren't very wholesome and want other things.

[ She's had some really bad encounters from lingering around the Mangled Mermaid to draw this conclusion and Gintoki's words fortify this. ]

In England, if you are a girl, you're taught to be a proper lady from a very young age. Manners, conversation, hosting, and how to speak. Then once you are old enough, you attend parties and other gatherings to meet suitors -- with a chaperon, of course. It's called a "debut".

[ She frowns, somewhat. ]

My sister didn't like it.

[ She doesn't get further into what happened to her sister. ]

It's alright, Papyrus, sometimes friends tease one another. He's a good friend, even if I'm sure he teases me. The way he is, he can't be serious about it and I am content with that. [ She manages a smile, no matter how tired she is. ] I'm glad that you have your best friend here and your brother.

[This sounds all like a lot of very Human things. Which he'll just nod and accept, because he doesn't know what to really say in response. That's her culture, not his. Even if she doesn't really seem happy about it... It sounds pretty awful, if he's honest with himself.]

If you say so! [He's been teased before, platonically (he's sure platonically) by Undyne, so he knows it's possible. But if she had to think about it... is she so sure it's platonic? Well, that's none of his business!]

I am glad as well! I know I'm very lucky to have them both! I didn't know you had a sister before, but maybe she'll show up here too!

[ It does sound pretty awful, even if it's the norm. The standards of women where she comes from are strict and rigid. Her family is filled with independent-thinking women. It confuses her too.

And when it comes to Sion, Alice is even more confused. She misses her sister, she wishes she could consult her further on these things. She frowns. ]

As lovely as it would be to see my sister, unfortunately that's not possible. [ Gentle, but sad. ] My sister passed away eleven years ago. But... a part of her still lives through me. She gave me very good advice when I was a little girl and I do my best to follow it.

[ It doesn't hurt as much to discuss her family members as it did, she finds, so she rebounds rather quickly. ]

Which is why I'm happy that you have your friend and brother here with you.

[Well now he just feels like garbage.]

O-Oh, I'm... I'm sorry, I hadn't meant to...

[He's at a loss of words now, not meaning to remind her that she wouldn't see her sister again, while she wished him well for him and his brother, as well as his best friend. He can't imagine how lonely she must be...]

Alice, I promise, that if you should need someone, you can always call on me, alright?

[ Despite the pain, she finds herself forcing a small smile. She's more lonely than she cares to admit. ]

It's alright, it doesn't hurt as much as it did. My family would want me to make friends.

[Even if he had no way of knowing... He still feels bad he even brought it up. Losing a sibling, to him, would be like losing a huge part of himself. Well, given that his sibling in question is so important to him, it might be a little different, but still.]
