(Closed.) You don't look anything like Tim Allen
CHARACTERS: Nicolas St. North, Dipper Pines, Mabel Pines
DATE: Before the exploration log!
WARNINGS: home-made ouija boards, snotty children
SUMMARY: Mabel's life was saved by a Russian ninja ghost on arrival, so the Mystery Twins set out to nutcracker this case.
Okay Dipper, it was about here…
[The beach was deceptively peaceful now. It looked like something on a Costa Rican postcard, but when Mabel first set foot on this fair land it was anything but paradise. A raging storm, giant hungry crabs, all fighting for a piece of her to take home for dinner.
And then?
She stops several paces away from a wall of jagged rocks and pats her foot down into the sand.]
This spot! That’s where the Russian Ghost first appeared. [She presses her foot in to make a divet. Perhaps there was a haunted artifact buried in the sand. Like a babushka doll, or fossilized vodka. Could be important!] He chopped up those crabs like it was happy hour at the sushi bar! And then he picked me up and leaped waaaaay over there! But he had to use a severed crab claw to do it. I couldn't touch him for some reason, and I guess he couldn't touch me. I probably looked like I was flying, heh heh. Good times.

So. Here they are, trailing along the shore until she points out the spot of her mysterious rescue. A situation which is weird in itself; is that something ghosts ever bother with?
He stops a few feet behind her, assessing the area with a thoughtful gaze. ]
Hmmm... [ Dipper taps at his chin. ] Bit of a weird spot to haunt, unless you need vacation getaways in the afterlife, too. [ Hah. ] Y'wanna help me look for any clues?

But of course, this also means that he's prone to running into people, the new and the familiar - like now! He recognizes the girl he rescued not too long ago, along with a --
Wait. Did he rescue a boy...? No, no, it was definitely a girl. Which means: ] Yupp-ah! Twins! [ He beams, laughter bubbling out of his lips as he begins to tip toe across the sands, as sneaky as an invisible 7 foot man can be. He (theoretically) joins them mid-conversation, and from what they're talking about it appears as though they're - ]
You are looking for someone? [ He responds, as if the children can hear him; only judging from the way they continue the conversation, it's unlikely. But! He can put two and two together with what they're saying, and it doesn't take long before it dawns on him - ] Ah! You are looking for me!
[ Well, if that's the case, there's every reason to help them. So! A couple of feet from where Dipper's standing, North draws a smiley face in the sand; the boy will probably have to come this way to see it, but it'll be pretty obvious once he's close enough. ]

[There could totally be cruise shipping humans here, they'd only futzed around on a small cluster of islands so far. The world was a vast and mysterious place after all.
Or, perhaps more likely, there was a ghost on the crew. There were already skeletons so why not more of the undead?]
You got it bro bro. [She snaps her fingers at him and spins on her heel, scouting out the area for suspicious activity. Just a scant few feet past Dipper there's a marking in the sand. A curious blemish in the otherwise pristine beach. Mabel frowns and trots over.
It's....a smiley face? Mabel gasps.]
Have I been beach-drawing in my sleep?

[ Dipper glances over once Mabel draws closer and grows surprised...
Over a smiley face in the sand. With a quirked brow, he shoots the doodle a small frown, then back up at her. ]
C'mon, people leave drawings in the sand all the time. Somebody must've left it behind. We need more solid evidence than that, Mabel.

Hah! [ He throws his head back, until his entire body leans over, slapping his knee. And when Dipper's reaction comes - ] Then what about this, hmm?
[ And in the sand, there's a face with an open smile that gets drawn beside the first. It's literally :D ]

Really? What gives, Dipper? It's not my only evidence. What about the crab fight? And flying through the air? Sure, no one was around to see it, but that doesn't mean it didn't happen. Would I lie to you about something like this?
[And through her tirade, she's facing him: oblivious to the anomaly just shy of their toes.]
