THE CASTLE ( NOV 7 )
Our resident warrior princess, Kidagakash Nedakh, has formulated a plan to investigate the castle and speak with the royals. (The OOC plotting post can be found here.) Now, it's time to put it into action.
The castle itself is huge. From the outside, you can see a beautiful garden, a pond, and a statue commemorating Odette. You can also see several guards, some more invested in their job than others. A few are stony-faced, menacing men with looks that could kill. A couple just look like they'd appreciate a pretty girl or interesting guy to liven up their boring day.
On the inside, all the halls look different, yet the same — different pieces of art, different wall fixtures, but everything else is identical. There's many portraits of the king and his late wife on the walls, sparkling chandeliers, and servants scurrying around. Odette's pale, smiling face and cascading blonde locks look somewhat familiar, but that might just be because of all the statues of her likeness around the city.
The castle has pretty much every room you'd expect a castle to have. A library, a wine cellar, a dining hall, etc. Within them, characters can expect to find various things of interest — there are many books, fancy stationery, even some valuable coins if you look hard enough. There's also many letters to be found detailing the situation in Chantes; of course, there's also plenty of letters on far less official business. Some of them have quite steamy imagery.
There are plenty of servants milling about inside the castle and out in the gardens. In the dining hall and their chambers are several of Chantes' most important nobles. And then, of course, there's you. |

[ He assumes she has at least a couple thoughts judging from the way she worded her last sentence. Masamune could do a lot of things to make this the guards really earn this year's pay, but he's not exactly convinced this is going to be worth the effort. He does remember her sayings something about her cards when she addressed everyone on the network, so maybe she has something that'll reap the distraction results with miminal injury and effort. ]

[She would rather not get into trouble at all, really. But sometimes it can't be helped. At least this way she might be able to help and prevent things escalating too much.
When he asks, she turns, showing him the Clow Cards. Maze, Mirror and Illusion being the ones at the top of the pile she had been considering as the most potentially viable if they wanted to do this more subtly and without anyone getting hurt.]
I was thinking Maze might help? If we get them distracted trying to find their way back? We won't need to hurt them, just keep an eye on them if they do get near inside to possibly warn the others.

All right. Let's do it your way. [ Not just using her card but with intention not to hurt any of the guards or other castle inhabitants. ] Show me the power of this Maze, Sakura-chan. The elements are on your side, too. [ eternal night is not the time and place Masamune would want to find himself in a maze suddenly. ]
I think you might even spook them, which can work to your advantage of increasing the chances of no one getting hurt. [ the warlord can sympathize with the innocent desire to not harm anyone, but he can also accept she's more mature than one might initially think since she has also expressed the understanding it may come to that. Masamune is willing to help her not have to cross that threshold but is also sure the easiest way to do that is somehow ensure the only way their targets get out is because Sakura lets them out.
Then again, how long is a distraction really going to last before they realize that's exactly all this situation outside is? Not long if these guards are even half-worth their salt. ]

[Surely, this is worth a try, at least. First, she has to Release the staff, pulling out one of her two apparent necklaces around her neck and tucked inside her clothes. Not the one provided by ALASTAIR, but the one from home that almost looks like some sort of bird. She calls out, holding her hands around the necklace without outright touching it.]
The key that holds the power of darkness. Reveal your true form to me. I, Sakura, command thee under convert. Release!
[There's a light that emits, the necklace extending out to the pink sealing staff which she grabs and twirls before slamming it against one of the Clow Cards. A yellow magic circle containing a sun and moon glowing under her feet as she activates it, a slight gust of wind surrounding her.]
Maze! Come forth and create a path for the guards!
[At that, some shrub hedges rise up out of nowhere, complete with some dead ends and a center if one really cares to search and follow through it.]

[ he asks without even thinking twice once Sakura is done her incantation and the appearance of the shrub hedges. For someone who has never really seen magic, this is all pretty intriguing as well as entertaining stuff. Funnily enough, the ones he's seen magic from the most in the ALASTAIR team are the younger ones, so he's really impressed. Really talented kids, the world needs more of that for sure.
But beyond that, a maze looks fun? The guards should be thankful to be honest to get to play such a challenge. ]

[Which is worrying. But they can figure something else if necessary, they have time to possibly come up with another plan while the guards are busy with the maze and finding their way through that, back to the castle to possibly raise the alarm. That's the main thing for now, as she stands and watches the now confused and possibly slightly scared guards.]
no subject
Well, we could play a game of tag with them if you're feeling up to it.
[ Where does he come up with these ideas... Who is the adult between the two of them. ]
no subject
[It's not that she doesn't know the game. Of course she does. It's a simple one played by children possibly everywhere in some form or another. She just isn't expecting to hear such a suggestion with everything going on here right now.]
no subject
If we can go in there too we can heard them in a direction we would like them to go in under the darkness and with some noise.
Of course they won't be fooled for that long. And when they realize there's just two of us, they're going to come after us. Since we are doing this without hurting anyone, our best bet is run them around until they lose us or tire themselves out.
[ so it's really not all that much like tag because technically there's only one exchange of chaser rights versus the chased, but Masmune thinks is absolutely close enough. ]

[So. Well, if he thinks it will work, she's down for at least trying to help. She twirls her staff, pulling out the Fly card to activate it. Hoping flying over the maze won't cause it to grow like it has in the past when she initially caught it. The wings at each side of the head of her staff grow, enlongate to the point that it can hold her weight.]
Want me to drop you off in there? Or will you be okay? I can keep a better eye on things if I fly above.
no subject
[ her offer to drop him off makes him laugh, though, not in a bad way, but he cant remember ever being asked by a lady if they could drop him off anywhere. There's a lot of things he needs to get used to. Still, he isn't against it, although he teases a little now. ]
I can get in just fine as long as you don't think it'll stop me. Use your wings to keep us on top of everything! [ he shifts to start walking before crouching down to get ready to make the leap over the maze, only pausing to look up at her. ]
Ah, but by the way—you can pull me out if needed, right?
[ he's joking, really, but if she's seriously capable of that with her stature, all the better. anyway he's jumping in, Sakura's time to be a referee for professional tag is about to begin. ]
no subject
[There are probably a lot of training exercises Sakura isn't so used to, without any of her family in the military, after all. So that's probably not too surprising she might not quite understand what he means by that. But regardless he does get a nod from her, a light laugh.]
I will. Just let me know. I won't go too high, I'll still need to keep an eye on everything, so I'll see if you need a hand, don't worry. Just leave it to me!
[She gives him a wave as he jumps down, circling above and trying to keep an eye on him while also doing her best to lead the guards.]

[ it's ok, Sakura, he means it very literally, his troops are something special and there is a very unique thing relationship he has with all of them. In a good way, of course, but that also means they're subject to some less traditional methods to make sure they never slack off. Like, being chased around by your boss... ]
Leaving it to you, then! [ he laughs, glad at the confidence level (also it's pretty cool to be a tiny shoujo and be able to pull a samurai out okay she deserves the admiration.
He lands in the maze, glancing up and giving her a casual salute before taking off through the maze to see just where he can run into these guards without getting totally lost himself in the process. ]
