THE CASTLE ( NOV 7 )
Our resident warrior princess, Kidagakash Nedakh, has formulated a plan to investigate the castle and speak with the royals. (The OOC plotting post can be found here.) Now, it's time to put it into action.
The castle itself is huge. From the outside, you can see a beautiful garden, a pond, and a statue commemorating Odette. You can also see several guards, some more invested in their job than others. A few are stony-faced, menacing men with looks that could kill. A couple just look like they'd appreciate a pretty girl or interesting guy to liven up their boring day.
On the inside, all the halls look different, yet the same — different pieces of art, different wall fixtures, but everything else is identical. There's many portraits of the king and his late wife on the walls, sparkling chandeliers, and servants scurrying around. Odette's pale, smiling face and cascading blonde locks look somewhat familiar, but that might just be because of all the statues of her likeness around the city.
The castle has pretty much every room you'd expect a castle to have. A library, a wine cellar, a dining hall, etc. Within them, characters can expect to find various things of interest — there are many books, fancy stationery, even some valuable coins if you look hard enough. There's also many letters to be found detailing the situation in Chantes; of course, there's also plenty of letters on far less official business. Some of them have quite steamy imagery.
There are plenty of servants milling about inside the castle and out in the gardens. In the dining hall and their chambers are several of Chantes' most important nobles. And then, of course, there's you. |
ayyy i'm here
Watching Pearl's spear cut through the air in neat arcs had only affirmed Pearl's skill as a fighter. Still, there's only one of her and a great many potential guards, and it would be comforting to know that Pearl had some sort of backup lest something unexpected were to happen.]
Are you sure you'll be alright on your own?
no subject
Pearl nods with confidence behind the motion, puffing up her chest as she renews her grip on her spear.]
Of course, I'll be just fine Riza. I know you two can handle all this, but still, if you need some back up I can rush right in if need be. [She gestures to her jewel around her neck, and tries to offer a reassuring grin.]
I'm stronger than I look.
no subject
The same goes for you. [Riza taps at the silver stud in her left ear, her own personal connection to the network.] If you need any help on your own end, don't hesitate to let us know.
[She's played double duty before and won't hesitate in doing it again.]
no subject
You two have a mission to attend to. You don't need any distractions of your own. Besides, I can hold my own. There's no need for you to worry about me.
[She twirls and catches her spear in a strong confident grip before she steps up to Riza, her voice quiet, yet stern.]
Riza. Please keep her, and yourself, safe.
no subject
Though they don't come common to her, Riza nods and smiles, a small curve of her lips that signifying her intent better than any words could.]
Of course. We'll all make it out of this just fine.
[Not just wishful thinking but the equivalent of a promise on her end. They all had their own goals to achieve, and friends and family waiting on their return. This isn't the end of their journey.
But first:]
Did you have anything you wanted to know from the king?
[It seems unfair to shut Pearl out, especially when she'd been so invaluable.]
no subject
She shakes off the worry temporarily as Riza addresses her, blinking with wide surprise. Things she wanted to know? She falters for a moment before she recollects herself and shakes her head.]
All I want to know is probably the same of which you and Kida wish to obtain from him as well. In the end, I want this ridiculous 'war' of theirs to be over with. Reminds me too much of home.
no subject
She's about to nod and head off - time is precious here, after all - but pauses as Pearl finishes up her thought, brows pulling down at this new information.]
Were people fighting where you came from as well?
[It's a strangely common theme in those she's met so far.]
no subject
[Pearl waves her hand, almost dismissively as she offers Riza another smile. That was a story for another day however. She gestures her head towards the king's chambers.]
I'm counting on you two.
no subject
This is for Pearl then, and everyone else fighting for not only peace in Chantes but peace in their relative worlds. Her shoulders straighten a touch, chin lifting up.]
Of course.
[She turns, pausing only once to look back.]
Be careful, Pearl.
no subject
[Hearing a commotion down the hall, she gives one final nod to Riza and turns.
She wouldn't let anyone get past and ruin the plan. Not on her watch.]
