PLAYER PLOT ★ STORM THE CASTLE

THE CASTLE ( NOV 7 )

Our resident warrior princess, Kidagakash Nedakh, has formulated a plan to investigate the castle and speak with the royals. (The OOC plotting post can be found here.) Now, it's time to put it into action.

The castle itself is huge. From the outside, you can see a beautiful garden, a pond, and a statue commemorating Odette. You can also see several guards, some more invested in their job than others. A few are stony-faced, menacing men with looks that could kill. A couple just look like they'd appreciate a pretty girl or interesting guy to liven up their boring day.

On the inside, all the halls look different, yet the same — different pieces of art, different wall fixtures, but everything else is identical. There's many portraits of the king and his late wife on the walls, sparkling chandeliers, and servants scurrying around. Odette's pale, smiling face and cascading blonde locks look somewhat familiar, but that might just be because of all the statues of her likeness around the city.

The castle has pretty much every room you'd expect a castle to have. A library, a wine cellar, a dining hall, etc. Within them, characters can expect to find various things of interest — there are many books, fancy stationery, even some valuable coins if you look hard enough. There's also many letters to be found detailing the situation in Chantes; of course, there's also plenty of letters on far less official business. Some of them have quite steamy imagery.

There are plenty of servants milling about inside the castle and out in the gardens. In the dining hall and their chambers are several of Chantes' most important nobles. And then, of course, there's you.

[Oh my god. Hellboy looks backwards toward the door too, just to make sure that it's not really drawing attention. That seemed a little too much like disappointment, just saying...

Frowning, Hellboy gestures at the book in his hand.]
I don't know if really, really dry books on war are 'juicy.'

Dry is generally the opposite of juicy.

[ Loki says with a puff, sounding mock resigned. he doesn't seem to be deterred, or even have the curtesy enough to ask if he's intruding. (because, well, technically they're all intruding, he'd argue.) ]

What kind of dry? The good kind of dry, or the boring kind of dry?

[Hellboy tilts his head to the side, quiet for a moment as he appears to mull this over. How can something be the good kind of dry?]

It's boring. Names and dates. Lists of the dead from years ago. [He snaps the book shut and slips it back on the shelf.] I don't know if there's anything in here that's actually useful.

[ wine is the good kind of dry. ]

Records records and more records.

[ Loki takes a random book from the shelf by the spine, fluttering it open with a wave of his hand. the pages feather out and fall to either side. he runs his fingers down sentences as he reads and speaks at the same time (multi-talent). ]

There is the whole divinity thing at our heels. It may—may—tie into the whole sun thing. Which ties into our whole mission thing.

Depending on how much of that you buy.

[well touche.

Hellboy squints at what appears to be a very open display of magic, books opening with a gesture. He knows of two people with magic who are here, courtesy of Kida -- Ahad and Loki. And this is definitely not Ahad.]

How much I buy into the supernatural? [It's an... extremely dry... question. Everything is dry. But the point is, has he looked at Hellboy lately.]

Sometimes people use that as an excuse to cover up normal crimes. So I don't know.
