OPEN PLOT POINT LOG ★ THE GOOD SHIP LOLLIPOP

May 4th; REPAIRS GALORE
Maybe you responded to the post on the network about the big discovery, or maybe someone you know roped you into helping- either way, so far it seems like this ship might be the only feasible way off the island. If you can get it up and running again. The controls and internal systems seem to have been largely preserved intact, but they'll need a bit of maintenance- you know, repairing corroded wires, unsticking the buttons, cleaning the screens, reattaching the power... and that's not to mention the outside. There's a large hole in the hull that needs to be repaired with metal salvaged from other places on the island, barnacles and rust that need removing, breeches that need putty...
A few recruits take charge to direct work flow, but people are encouraged to work on what they can! Even if you're not super strong there's still work you can do, and of course the volunteers need to be fed! There's a job for everyone... but this is going to take a few days at least.
May 11th; A BREAK IN THE STORM
There's just one problem. Even once they get the ship in questionably operating order... how in the world are they going to clear that fierce storm? The ship might be ready to sail, but it's definitely not ready to take another beating.
Though surely some recruits are doing their best coming up with ways to either make the ship sturdy enough to sail through or find a way to banish the unnatural storm, it seems like they might be stuck in dry dock... until the clouds disperse and the sun begins to shine. Wait- what just happened?
May 12th; BON VOYAGE
Now the storm has cleared, it looks like you all might just be able to get home! ... Well, not home, but. Back to Pu'ulai at least. The journey might get off to a bit of a rocky start, since they need to figure out A) how to use the strange touch screen steering apparatus on the warship and B) which direction to sail in, but at least this thing has a good radar, so hopefully they can avoid any "I'll never let go, Jack!" conclusions.
Thankfully it's a large vessel so quarters aren't cramped for the nearly 2 days it will take to get back to the others. Be nice, share your food, take shifts so people don't fall asleep at the proverbial wheel, all that jazz.
Try not to freak out when the shore of the island approaches and everyone realizes no one replaced the brakes on this thing. Brace for impact?
May 14th; REUNION TOUR
The marooned crew is back! All those messages you were trying to send to people in the other group that never got through? Watch out, because your inbox is about to get flooded. (Or not, if you're a grump no one messages.) A giant Dakal warship crashing into the beach is bound to attract native and ALASTAIR attention alike... and the older generation of Nalawi actually go for their weapons and pitchforks in a panic, ready to defend the beach against a foe they never thought to see again... but find themselves confused upon realizing the passengers are ALASTAIR recruits. This is the place for your teary "I thought you might be dead!" reunions as well as the more bro-esque "glad you're still alive, loser" type greetings.
You all have a lot of information to trade. What happened on that risen island? Sacrifices flayed open? Ryba is huh? Nalanni is wha? Kidnapped?! Woah, slow down. Wouldn't it be great if ALASTAIR would get in touch? (Shh, that's May 15th).
OOC NOTE;
This is a mod-sponsored plot point driven log for those marooned (and later, those who were left behind). If you'd like to do some OOC organization/plotting, feel free to utilize this thread! Please direct any questions there or to the mod plurk. The disappearance of the storm on the 11th is relevant to another player plot point soon to be revealed, so that is left a bit vague for that reason. Feel free to play out reunion stuff here if you'd like, though because of a few plot points left to be revealed, you may want to bookmark this and come back for srs threads once those go public. Thank you! ♥

Maybe that was why she liked being around Olivia so much...][Olivia's tears are sadly enough the least salty thing that's wet Sieglinde's hair of late, her long near-black hair and her dress both slightly stiff with built up salt that came from barely having enough fresh water to drink and none to waste on bathing or laundry.
Sieglinde tries to keep her own tears back, but there's a distinctive hiccuping sound in her voice that gives away the threat of the dam breaking even as she tentatively hangs on to some semblance of calm.]
I- I would never allow such a thing to happen, so you need not worry, Olivia-
[She'd done it, hadn't she? Found the boat, and lead the efforts to bring them back... she'd been of use, hadn't she? Small hands clung to the older woman's shoulders, tight.]
We are back now, it will be fine-

You're so brave and s-strong, [ come out her blubbering words, and in the moment it is difficult to tell if she is merely praising or expressing some semblance of envy. perhaps both. perhaps she wishes she could face such trials with the same straight face and calmness of her master; that she could respond to these hardships with a level of competency that would have others around her leeching off of her confidence like she leeches from sieglinde's now.
her hold around the young girl tightens, drawing her even closer in an embrace. ]
It must have been terrible—

It was trying, but- there is much news that needs to be shared... the island we were taken to, it was once one of the Dakal's-
[Even though she tried to keep to the matter at hand, the upsetting fact that it seemed some members of their team might rush off to kill a god... she didn't want to. She wanted what Olivia offered- to cry, and have someone tell her it was alright, and that she'd been so brave.]
What became of you all here- ?

she longed to tell sieglinde of their trials here too, of the corpses and kidnappings and rituals. of olivia's own injury, and of her diligence in pacing herself and her use of powers, just like sieglinde had warned her to do.
but none of that seemed all that important now, not with the young girl quivering slightly in her arms, gripping her just as tightly as she. gently, her hand began to rub small circles around the girl's back, but it's tough to say who the gesture of comfort is more for. ]
It doesn't matter, [ she says, though she doesn't know if she fully believes it, ] we're all together again. That's what's important.
no subject
[It mattered, but even Sieglinde didn't quite want it to matter right now, though a sense of duty bound her to at least ask, at least protest even as she momentarily gave in to the soothing gesture.]
Are you well? Did the storm affect this island, too?
no subject
It.. has, yes. There were a number of Nalawi who did not make it.
[ she hesitates for a few long seconds wherein she considered her options. sieglinde seemed quite adamant about remaining focused at the situation at hand, but olivia herself would rather set such trouble thoughts aside for later, once emotions are a little less frayed.
though she's beginning to wonder if there ever will be such a time... ]
There was an issue, a few days ago. Regarding some Nalawi who worshipped Ryba.
no subject
But Olivia's next words meant that wasn't it. Concerned, Sieglinde tried to pull away a bit, to look the other woman in the face.]
What kind of issue... ?
no subject
...They sacrificed some of their own to Ryba. And — tried to sacrifice three of ours, too.

But- just tried, so they are alri-
[Her words froze, though, when her gaze dropped... and found the bandages across Olivia's middle.]
Olivia?

[ but her hasty attempts to reassure the young witch die quickly on her tongue upon noticing where the girl's attention had drawn.
sheepishly, olivia drops an arm to wrap around her midsection, as if obscuring the bandages could somehow make it go away. ]
It's not as bad as it looks, [ she's quick to say. ] I-It's healing just fine—
no subject
What happened to you?
[Had it happened fighting with the Nalawi who followed Ryba? Only Sieglinde's respect for her disciple prevented her from just reaching out to remove the woman's arms from impeding her view, instead gesturing for it to be done, to let her see.]
no subject
[ she isn't, not really, but she's not dead. so that's a thing. ]
no subject
[Sieglinde was still resisting the urge to force Olivia to show her, even as she tried to allow the woman the time to explain herself, try to assure her that she was fine...]
How did you treat it- ?
no subject
Just a bit... but luckily, Mr. Law was there, and he's a doctor in his world — [ she doesn't mean to discredit sieglinde's work, though, so she hastens to add: ] I'd done some healing of my own too, when I was able to, don't worry!
no subject
[It was reassuring, at least, even if "don't worry" was a pointless thing to say to Sieglinde... ever. In fact, she waved her hand dismissively instead.]
- Nevermind. Let us go somewhere more comfortable and inspect it.
[That was far more constructive... and it got them off the beach. She was growing pretty tired of sand.]

AND MORE HUGGING
she also would have told sieglinde about law being a physical doctor, and how she's asked him to teach her what he could )
