You. You're harder to lose than you look. [Laedo had spotted Meallan a few moments ago while making his way a little further ahead in the troupe. He'd been playing team sweeper for the better part of a two weeks, in the grasslands and in the desert, and he'd been drained of more magic by dint of providing shelter and rations than he had had energy to replenish. He, too needed time to rest, he was finding. Rather than settle directly into the river, however--and he was in his human form now, the better to conserve magic that would go to sustaining his massive form--he seated himself on a river rock and allowed Ulale to crawl out upon his lap, where she chirped welcome at the elf. Despite the terror of their earlier meetings, she recognized him now for the better.
Laedo had been all too worried when she had heard that his friend had been lost deep, deep underground. He'd even tried to dig his way down the chute that Serene had climbed out of to reach the Dalish elf, but it was simply too deep a pit and the asandus had been too large, and in the end he'd been called off to open up other cracks in the ground.
The entire team had been in a chaotic rush, attempting to round up lost parties, counting who was still missing, and who had merely been transferred to another team in the middle of all of this tumult. Goddesses both, it had been a disaster. To admit that his heart was soothed to see a familiar face without any more missing limbs was perhaps too much for the asandus. He could, instead, poke genial fun.]
