That is the garment one wears upon his legs, is it not?
[Achilles appears dubious of countenance once more, accustomed as he is to the greater freedom of movement granted by draping oneself in a large rectangle of fabric. Long has he enjoyed the rush of running fast, and he is loath to give this up.]

[It appears that Achilles is adapting his shirt to suit his needs well enough, so Haise turns his attention to the selection of pants laid out on display nearby. He selects a pair he believes would fit and holds them up for Achilles to get a better look at]
You might find the material stiffer than you're accustomed to, but it's good for desert conditions.
[Better in dealing with prickly plants and the pests that come along with them, assuming the desert environment is as it appears. If they ever need to ride those mechanical horses that would be all the more reason for pants]
i'm sorry......
Indeed it seems that it shall hold well against this harsh landscape and all we may be tasked to do.
[Thus Achilles accepts the garment and retreats behind the curtain once more. There he unbinds the sandals from his feet. Then he ungirds his tunic and upon carefully folding the voluminous length of fabric, he sets it aside to instead pull on the pants. However, what Haise failed to impress upon him is the necessity of undergarments: he wears none for his is a culture where these are widely considered optional rather than a standard component of one's garb.
He is spared the trouble of a zipper, for the pants are fastened solely by a strip of buttons, but this poses its own problem, as the brass of the buttons is quite cold against...certain places of his person, nor is the rough fabric particularly kind in this regard. It is with a grimace pulling at his lips that he emerges, tugging at the belt loops as if to adjust the garment that it might grow more comfortable.]
no, no, you're grand...
There might be some happy medium, he thinks, but the selection here might not be the best for that. Haise folds his arms as he considers the finer points in clothing a hero from legends, a thoughtful hum caught behind his lips.
After a while though, it seems to him that Achilles has been in the changing stall for some time. If he's never worn pants before, maybe he's having difficulties with them, or trouble adjusting...]
...Is everything alright?

These are not to my liking, although to speak further on the matter I fear would be rude to the present company.
[Translation: he won't talk about the woes of his little Achilles in front of the poor seamstress.]

[Haise starts, dubious, and looks toward the only other presence in the room. It takes him a few moments to connect factors between Achilles' fidgeting and his words, but in the span of these moments he thinks he's added it up. So he turns his attention back to the other man, lest the seamstress decide to approach them]
Ah.
[He moves to another display set out on a round table, sifting through some garments before he returns with a pair of boxers. Far softer material than the pants Achilles is currently fidgeting with, and as a bonus, a colorful dancing cactus print on them]
I should've suggested you put these on before the pants...
[Although he might be wrong, this does appear to be the problem]

So intricate a pattern I have scarce seen before - it seems to me a shame that this shall be hidden underneath where none may admire it. Nevertheless I shall gladly don this garment.
[And so he does. When he emerges once more, his stance is far more natural than before as he adjusts to this unfamiliar garb.]
Indeed this is more to my liking. Thank you, Haise, for your assistance.
[Yet still his feet are bare upon the wooden floorboards, his sandals waiting in the dressing stall beside his folded clothes.]

[Jeans, especially. That's a level of abrasion Haise wouldn't have wished on his associate, but at least it was a problem easily addressed. Now comes the real challenge, at least in his view, as there remains the matter of footwear.
Boots may be incredibly uncomfortable for Achilles, but better they at least discuss it than not at all]
Typically, people wear boots with clothing like this. I'm not sure whether you'll find them easy to move in, but do you want to try them out for yourself?
[His sandals could be tough to lace with jeans on, the more he considers it, so giving the boots a sporting try seems for the best]

I clad my feet in boots when this company was made to trek across the frozen tundra of Zeta-12, and so these are not wholly strange to me. Let us see if now too they shall be suitable.
[So speaking, he moves toward the modest shelf on which are displayed several pairs of boots in various sizes.]

These may be structured somewhat differently, and I haven't figured out why spurs are necessary with mechanical horses, but... [He glances over the shelf, then at Achilles' feet, and back to that shelf once again] Something around this size ought to fit.
[This he says as he points out a few pairs of boots that he'd imagine are appropriately sized]
