SUMMARY: lapis, nami, and olivia try to earn some extra $$$ by doing what they do best. chaos ensues.

Whether you've come to the Desert Flower Saloon this evening for boarding or for entertainment, you'll find the first floor practically vibrating with activity and life. On this night, unlike any other before (or so Miz Poppy will proclaim), the saloon's main stage will feature not one, not two, but three new performers, fresh (a week or so old is still fresh, right?) from the far corners of the universe to delight and excite the saloon's loyal patrons with the song and dance and magic of their alien people.

[She seems dubious, but doesn't push it. After all, she barely knew the woman, and lecturing her seems out of place when she was much younger in comparison.]

[ the girl couldn't have been any older than her late teens... what sort of "duties" would someone so young possibly have? ]

As a hero-in-training.

[She clarifies, though it's an old tale by now with the way everyone asks.]

[ for olivia, the term "hero" only has two meanings — the kind she reads about in stories back home, of dashing vagabonds and vigilantes determined to exact justice on the world, and ylisse's very own shepherds, who all strive hard to keep the peace of their lands.

olivia, understandably, has a hard time seeing momo in either of these roles. ]

Do.. you mean you are a soldier of some kind?

Yes.

[No. But it's closer to the right explanation and it's something she can grasp easily, so she takes it.]

I'm training to protect other people back home, basically.

[winces]

Oh my gosh! But you're so young...! Is that okay?

[yaomomo]

I'm still in training, but I assure you that I have been studying hard.

[She understands the concern, at least.]

Though, I am not officially allowed to work on the field yet. This place is an exception, I believe.

[winces]

[ she laughs a little. ]

Yes... I believe ALASTAIR always will be an exception. But — don't work too hard, okay? We're all here to work together, after all.

[yaomomo]

You don't have to worry about me, ma'am. [Once she's certain that it is unlikely that Olivia will be snatched away while they're dancing, she presses a hand just above her chest, to emphasize a point.] Something like this is a small part of my duty. I think it's always necessary to watch over our fellow teammates after all, if we want to have a cohesive unit.

[winces]

[ ah... what an impressive and inspiring young woman...! ]

Well... I certainly can't argue with that. But please don't do it at your own risk, [ says the GIANT HYPOCRITE. ]
