Once he realizes her aim, he takes action again. Ice runes align and burst to shimmering life along the length of his sword; as they release their power, rime-coated chains burst from the ground. They seek to lash around Lucy's ankles; her wrists and midsection, to pull her down and bind her in place. As they form around her, Koltira himself runs forward and leaps, Byfrost brandished. He swings as he comes down, his sword aimed right for her stomach. ]

While keeping her grasp on Koltira's organs, a third vector appears in an attempt to wrench the weapon out of his hands, but all three disappear when her concentration is broken by a thunderous sound, followed by the feeling of something biting into her skin. There's no time for Lucy to escape, instead she finds herself forced onto her back, head colliding painfully with the ground. Gritting her teeth, Lucy strains against the chains, but they give no leave. Where had they come from anyway?
The sound of Koltira's bare feet hitting the earth is what first alerts her to the oncoming threat, head snapping up just in time to summon her vectors again. Two clasp Byfrost between them, but Koltira had come down with such force that the blade manages to break skin, ripping a pained gasp from Lucy's throat. It really stings, but it's not fatal, and it's not enough to dissuade her from using her power. The third vector reappears to snake its way to the back of Koltira's head, grasp a handful of white hair, and yank him off her body, Lucy glaring up at him the entire time while baring her teeth in a snarl.]

His hair is another matter. Howling, he's successfully yanked back, but in the next instant two shields pop up around his body: one, shimmering green, meant to deflect magic and supernatural intrusion, and the other, a swirling set of heavy bones--designed to protect against anything physical. He heaves, turning to swing at the vector with his sword; its runes flash red as he does so. The image of a mirror coated in blood floats briefly between them, dripping red and shimmering. Any damage he takes for the next few minutes--the wound and the pain alike--will reflect directly back at her. ]

Her grip on Byfrost weakens, allowing the sword to press deeper, but she manages to get Koltira off her body before it can do further damage. Her neck isn't held down by chains, so she lifts up her head to inspect the blood running down her body and into the dirt, but her attention is soon caught by the--were those shields?
After what just happened, Lucy doesn't try to grasp Byfrost again. She attempts to keep Koltira's attention on the vector he was swinging at while two more go for the chains at his ankles and pull to knock him off his feet, unaware of what the bloody mirror meant for her.
As she does that, yet another pair of vectors work the chains holding her down, trying to break them apart; pull at them; even hit them, creating a din each time they strike the metal.]
