[ aaand so, while escorting her/being escorted by her, he recounts the entire thing as requested. being separated from his friends, getting the shit kicked out of him, escaping and subsequently getting fixed up by a new friend, and then watching a space station crash into the planet. almost inexplicably, the survivors of said crash chose him to lead them—a decision based entirely on the fact that he was the only one who knew anything about surviving in their new, lawless hellhole of a home.

a year, a lot of experience, and a bit of an appearance update later, a series of strange circumstances reunited him with his friends, who then resolved to finish the whole "let's open a giant alien treasure chest guarded by an equally-giant alien monster and oh by the way it teleports" thing—and it was very touch-and-go, but in the end they succeeded and the treasure was theirs to plunder. or it would have been, if not for those meddling timelines. and so here he is, back in Oska. with no loot.

Sooo anyway, that's obviously the abridged version, but you get the idea. Maybe. [ he shrugs. storytelling is more Fiona's thing. ] Like I said, it's complicated.

[ Because that's the best way to put it, right? She's not really sure how else to say it, anyway; it was certainly a lot crammed into what, to her, was a very short period of time. ]

It really must be kind of weird coming back here. Are you going to tell everyone or just let them wonder if something about you is different but not ask but it would be kind of awkward?

...I mean, some of it was fun, I guess. [ his definition of "fun" is a little skewed, though. he snorts at the notion of just not saying anything. ] Yeah, it's pretty weird, but I'm okay with it. Not sure if I could get away with not telling anyone, though. I already blew it by telling you everything, anyway, right?

Hmm... tempting. [ what, it'd be kind of funny. ] Sadly, Rhys and Fiona already know everything on account of having been there, so it wouldn't really be a secret either way. But...

[ he raises a finger, like this is a very serious proposition. ]

That whole thing where I dropped a bunch of Vault monster loot in the library and made a complete ass of myself? That can be our little secret.

[ Which isn't nearly as fun, but she can live with it. Anyway, something else has come to mind, so she slows down a little, and looks around. ]

[ She actually isn't entirely sure where his room is, so she hopes he knows where they're going. ]

[ he stops abruptly and glances around. he... was so busy telling his crazy-ass story that he kinda wasn't paying attention. whoops. ]

Oh, uh... yyyeah, sorta.

[ by which he means no, as he sheepishly turns in the complete opposite direction. he is an adult; he knows where he's going. totally. ]
