oliver; and even though you're fed up
One ridiculous plan and a not altogether pleasant staged fight later, Jin and the small handful of people he'd been working with had still come up entirely short for information. Which means he'd let two friends dressed up as cops fake subdue him for absolutely nothing. The song and dance of it all, however, is less altogether frustrating than the failure itself. You'd think that with approximately a third of the damn team scoping out the hospital, someone should've wound up with something useful by now, wouldn't they?
With the hustle and bustle of the hospital all around him, it's not likely that anyone'll notice the "infected" man who'd caused a scene halfway across the building: not with his hair pulled back again and his posture upright once more. Massaging a sore spot on the back of his neck (Lucina had a firm knowledge of a nightstick), Jin finally catches sight of Oliver, looking... vaguely suspicious?
No harm in trying to fish for information around here a second time.]
Hey. [Jin sidles up to him, trying to look (somewhat) (not really) (he's a failure) casual about it.] Oliver, right? Did you find anything yet?

It's not as though he can lie though... he sighs, shaking his head.]
Not yet. I wanted to look in the doctor's office, but there's too many people around. I don't think I can get in there.
[His voice is at a whisper, but that combined with his darting eyes is probably not a helpful way to avoid attention. If anything it's making them look more conspicuous.]

[He can help, but he won't lie to him. Lowering his voice to barely more than a murmur and leaning closer:] We tried earlier today, if you saw the people hurrying over to the other wing of the hospital. Turns out figuring out how to sneak in doesn't mean crap if you can't find anything of use in the process.
[And suspicious they are. There's already a pair of nurses passing by, casting wary looks in their direction.]
If you want to give it a shot... [Jin angles his head in the direction of the doors, which are guarded.] Between the two of us, we can work something out.
Any bright ideas, teammate?

[Is it stupid to try? He's not the most talented member of this team.]
You tried it already, right? Maybe there isn't anything even in there.

Here, too, he has always had familiar faces around. Hiruma insistently hanging around, even if he’d never much liked him. Miles, ever gruff, yet close-to-ever present in the earliest weeks of their mission. Achilles and Sieglinde; hardly an ideal visitation, but one nonetheless, even as the dark cloud of mourning had hung over Jin’s apartment. But Hiruma and Miles had received transfers. (And, privately, he’s still concerned over the circumstances surrounding both.) Patroclus’ remains now seen to their appropriate rest, Achilles and Sieglinde had returned, at last, to their own home.
He need hardly dwell upon his empty bed.
So perhaps he has gotten a little lonely; perhaps he’d gotten too accustomed to someone being around rather than occupying four empty walls by himself, no Shaolin brothers, no floormates or housemates, no partner. Nothing’s changed for the mission, though: they’re all still on orders to help here, to eradicate and cure the virus and help as many people as possible.
It’s too dangerous for him to be leaving at this hour of the night if he doesn’t want to run into more infected than he could or should handle alone, but he can’t help but feel his fingers itch, his unoccupied mind wandering to who might possibly be out there, alone and in danger.
Fortunately for him, there’s a knock at his door as soon as he’s reaching to grab his bow. Brow furrowed, Jin moves for the door, checks the peephole (and blinks, dumbfounded, when he sees who’s behind it), and opens the door for Maya Fey.]
Not that I’m not happy to see you, but... not exactly a traditional visiting hour, is it? You okay, Maya?

[Maya's reasons for being here aren't purely selfless -- as worried about Jin as she is, the empty house her 'family' occupies has been getting steadily emptier and it's a little depressing. It's not like she isn't used to living alone, but the pathetic amount of sleep she's been getting lately just keeps dwindling and dwindling. Still, she knows Asher's gone and she doesn't want Jin to be alone, either.]
Hi, Jin!
[She grins when he opens the door, not seeming even the slightest bit concerned]
Yep! I came to say hi, actually. What are you up to?
[it's way too late at night for this....]
