SUMMARY: Sebastian received tea and a teapot for his holiday gift, so what better way to use it than to share it? That, and it's a prime opportunity to socialize Sieglinde. It's lessons time.

[ Whether you received an invitation to come to tea or just happen to be an especially dedicated explorer, you're likely to find the local apothecary's first floor slightly rearranged. After a bit of bargaining with the owners, Sebastian had managed to convince them to allow for a small gathering. While Sieglinde's little apartment above the store was well enough, it was certainly not suitable for what Sebastian had in mind. He had received a gift of tea (earl grey, of course) from ALASTAIR, and not quite having a taste for it himself, well. He had another idea on how to use it.

It was perfect for a lesson for the young lady.

A large table is set up for tea, including a plethora of tasty treats all made by Sebastian himself. He won't be sitting to join, since it's not proper for a butler, but he'll happily stand to the side of the room with the teapot at the ready to give people tea as they need a refill. There's no need to ask, since he's a butler of perfect principles, so just as you seem to be wanting more, he's there to refill your cup.

In his mind, this is an occasion for Sieglinde to meet others and socialize with them, and he can gently give lessons on proper etiquette, but it might not be in yours. Feel free to strike up a conversation with the butler quietly playing host, though he'd much prefer you speak with everyone else! ]

Ah...

[ His voice turns appropriately sympathetic, and it seems he's briefly at a loss of what to say. Sebastian reaches out and places a hand on her shoulder gently before he says anything else. His hand is warm, but not heavy, since it's meant to be a comforting gesture rather than an invasive one. ]

Then I am sorry to hear that, Miss Pearl. At the very least, this reminder is a beautiful one. I am sure it is a wonderful testament to them if they are so important to you to become such a marking.

[ He offers his other hand in a gesture that's clearly asking to see the mark better. ]

[While the idea of Rose being gone still places a heavy anchor in Pearl's heart, the hand on her shoulder is reassuring. She turns her head towards it, her pale blue eyes following up the man's arm and to his face.]

It's quite alright. I try to keep her memory alive in other ways.

[Her passion, her morals, her beliefs.. everything Rose Quartz stood for. Her eyes blink owlishly before she nods, holding out her branded hand out to him.]

Yes, of course you may.

[ Sebastian takes his hand delicately into his own, and he leans closer as if to take a closer look. It does seem like he really is appreciating the design, and he rubs his thumb gently over it as if to see if it's raised or not. However, he's feeling out something different, and just like he would for his own mark, there's the subtle, unique feeling of magic in that mark. He absolutely can't tell hardly a thing from it beyond that, but the confirmation is enough. Interesting.

Idly, he wonders where a spirit like Gilgamesh's contract ends up. He has half a mind to ask him, but considering his intrusion already, he'd rather not deal with the problems of two powerful creatures being territorial. Perhaps if they have a better rapport at some time, but not now.

He pulls his hand away, and he looks back up to her face with a warm smile. ]

It really is lovely. Thank you for allowing me to take a look— I have an interest in tattoos like this, I suppose I would say?

[Pearl watches him observe her tattoo, his gloved hands running over he pale skin and the markings. This felt like more than a glance at the design. Inspected. The Gem steels herself from pulling her hand away completely, until he lets go on his own accord.

She pulls her hand back, rubbing at the back of it with her other hand, accompanying a weak smile offered to the butler.]

Oh? Do you have a tattoo of your own?

[He's the last person she'd expect to have a tattoo.]

Well, something like that.

[ He admits it with a laugh and a smile that's perfectly casual. He's playing it off, since he can't lie and say that he doesn't in this case. It probably isn't technically a tattoo, but pushing the boundaries of his limitations is something he would only do for something more important than this. ]

But much like your own, it is also on my hand. It would be quite improper for me to take off my gloves in this occasion, so I hope you will pardon my rudeness in this case.

[ He brings his left hand to his chest, then bows his head. ]

Another time, perhaps?

[She furrows her brow at his first statement, almost squinting at him suspiciously. However, she shakes it off. Right! This was a party for his friend.

Yes, perhaps another time would be better. Something tells Pearl there's much more to this man than he lets on, if the jailbreak wasn't evident enough. The Gem nods.]

Yes, of course! I don't wish to distract you from your work.

[ He nods to the table setting before her. ]
