♠ OPEN ♠
CHARACTERS: Twisted Fate and your fine self
DATE: pre-mission
WARNINGS: None, at the moment.
SUMMARY: Catch-all before mission shenanigans. Message me if you want a personalized starter.
♣ i. library
[There's someone humming in the library. It doesn't take much exploring to find out who it is; leaning against the wall with a book open is Twisted Fate.
It seems like he spends a lot of his time when he can like this, investigating open sources to find some indication, some clue that he can get what he wants without paying a large price for it. The book he has open is amusingly titled Fasten Your Genes, clearly dictating knowledge of human biology, though the extent of it isn't obvious by the book title alone.
By the time Twisted Fate notices he has company, he glances up, stops humming, and cracks a casual smile.
The book is shut, and he calmly tucks it under his arm, assuming it'll be forgotten.]
Nice to have a bit of company. Lookin' for somethin', friend?
♠ ii. courtyard
[If he's not reading, then it's probably time for a good drink.
A fine blanket has been laid out, and at the moment Twisted Fate is lounging, pouring himself a glass of bourbon. The look in his eyes is distant, thoughtful, and he has a sip.
He glances out of the corner of his eye, and notices you. An easygoing smile forms and Twisted Fate raises his glass.]
Well now. Care to join me?
Maybe we can play a game.
[Better hope it's not cards.]

Running into Fate isn't much of a surprise, though the request of a game is.]
You want me to play a game. With you?
no subject
Doesn't have to be a card game. If you're nervous about losin'.
C'mon, tetrad. Sit and play with me.
no subject
[He looks amused at the mere idea. Him? Nervous? Before a performance, perhaps. But not this.]
You don't actually think you're capable of making me nervous.
[He sighs, taking a seat across from Fate.]
There's little point playing games with a cheat.
no subject
[Anyway.]
I'm perfectly capable of playing fair. You a bourbon man?
no subject
You'll have to excuse me if I don't quite believe that. It's okay I suppose.
no subject
I'll pour you a glass, an' we'll just have a friendly game between two fellahs. That sound all right by you?
no subject
Are you that bored, Fate?
no subject
Not much else to do until the next mission, right?
no subject
I won't deny that you have a point. So, what game are you going to be beating me in?
no subject
Guess that depends. Know any card games?
no subject
Not many, but I'm a fast learner.
i.
Always am, though I've yet to find just what it is I seek.
[ His fingertips trail the spines of the books as he walks down the shelves towards Twisted Fate, dragging against the different textures. ]
You seem to have, though.
no subject
[Twisted Fate just shrugs at Loki's statement thereafter, a bland response. He hasn't, really, but he scours whenever he can.]
Might help to have two pairs of eyes if you got somethin' in mind.
no subject
Something entertaining, I think. Though perhaps I ought better familiarize myself with the history of Audentes.
[ Something he no doubt should have done upon arrival, or at the very least, each time they returned between missions. ]
I have some passing knowledge, certainly, but I'm quite certain there is much I don't know.
no subject
I been 'round for little over a year now, so I can fill in some of the gaps.
no subject
Audentes, but more information on ALASTAIR would be most welcome

In contrast to Twisted Fate's relaxed demeanor, everything about Lon'qu screams stick up his ass, from the stiff set of his shoulders to the suspicious glint in his eyes. ]
What sort of game?
no subject
We can make it a nice an' easy one. You drink?
no subject
No. It dulls the senses. [ And a WARRIOR needs full use of his faculties at all times. ] Why?
