SUMMARY: Moving rocks for science.

[ She's basically never at the medbay, so it takes a little doing to find her way there. Not much more past asking a suit of armor about it, though. She's there in an hour (a little less, even, she's just that excited), with a handful of, well, rocks.

She's got about 8 of them, each a good, chuckable size, like what you'd toss through someone's window. If one were inclined to tossing rocks through windows. She idly tosses one as she walks, and it clacks against the others in her hand every time she catches it again. Here's the medbay, then... there, the lab. She invites herself in, looking around for Peter.

Hey, spider kid! You in here?

( he is in fact, though it is far from the first time Peter's shown up at the labs. he's a real nerd that spends too much of his time on scientific inquiry. this is a range he hasn't really traveled before, but Peter is rather intrigued by the possibility they could figure it out... even though he's completely unsure if it'll work out the way they want it to. )

Over here! ( he calls, and it's only when she's in eyeshot that he critiques, ) really? ( kid seems inaccurate now that he's going into beta 2.1, Ramir!

(he has no arguments with spider. she's got him on that one.)

when she heads closer, he drums his fingers on a foreign looking machine.
) This is our shot, it tracks brain activity, without going full MRI. Thank the tech gods of ALASTAIR. Probably those little cats, those dudes are crazy smart.

I'm just glad they're on our side. You know, kind of.

( Crowley and Cherenkov seem at least parallel with the interests of ALASTAIR, so that's saying something... okay that's harsh, they are just a little lacking in bedside manner. Peter just has no idea how to interact with cats. Cat Planet had been a crash course that didn't actually get him too far.

as for that...
) No, way easier than that. You just have to wear a few sensors. ( he points to his temple. ) And then, yeah, the rock moving thing. ( he steps closer to place them and can't help but ask, ) So when did you move one last? Was it after a long period of concentration, or just spontaneous?

( it's weird to actually be free to relate to someone on this matter. usually peter feels obligated to remain silent — now when Ramir drops in the char, he's actually free to agree. )

Yeah. I broke my sink at least five times after I got mine. And that's just to start. ( he's destroyed more than he's protected, it feels like. he hops on the counter to futz with the reader, glancing at Ramir. ) Sometimes I feel like I'm still not used to it. How did you learn to control it?

i cant believe this

( wow. uh. okay. Peter gapes at her, quite literally, barely knowing how to respond. it's good he's not holding anything, he'd probably have dropped it.

after the gaping he turns a ridiculous shade of pink. it's not that he's never thought about it because oh god he has but he'd never imagined starting there. what if something happened?
) Yeah... I uh... I'm not... he wouldn't... And I don't —

( PLEASE STOP SAYING WORDS PARKER... ABORT... he scrubs a hand over his face and tries to find a less soul scarring follow-up without actually managing to look at her. ) Got any other ideas?

LOOK HOW COULD HE EXPECT THAT WAS THE ANSWER

Nothing's not gonna work.

( and totally not what he meant, but sure, let's change the subject, he's totally fine with a change of subject, let's focus on SCIENCE that always works, and, )

You're not half as funny as you think you are. ( actually, Ramir, you are, its just the flighty virgin is too sensitive on the subject to see it. at least being mildly annoyed makes him stammer less. ) Try and think about what made it work the last time. If we can manage that I can see what part of your brain is activated and we can focus on streamlining those responses.
