Jason Grace | Camp Half-Blood Chronicles | OTA

I. Traveling with an Empress: Camp Out
[And now it's an escort mission. Jason supposed it was only a matter of time before their help was enlisted in actually getting the two ruling women to meet. He doesn't seem too bothered to be walking the whole way either. Considering their task, Jason isn't without a weapon, a golden gladius strapped to his side. He'll chat with you or ride with you if you offer him one.

Either way, he doesn't complain when they have to sleep outside either, instead doing his part to help light fires and pitch tents. Something he's clearly done before given how quickly and efficient he is at doing it. He chats with the guards during one such camp set up, working while he talks. At the moment the discussion is on festivals and traditions, though it could easily devolve into a time to share stories or jokes. It's certainly easy to relax around the camp fire. Currently, Jason is in the middle of discussing the New Roman holiday of Saturnalia.
]

It's a whole week of events that sprawls from Camp Jupiter to New Rome. We string lights everywhere, exchange gifts, and have a mock election for who gets to be lord of the festival. The election is opposite our usual tradition and is only open to anyone with less than a year of service in the Legion.

[He turns to another member of the guild, even as some of the guards ask him for details about the festival.]

What about you? What's your favorite celebration back home?

II. In The Spirit of Things: Fighting/Defending Against Animals
[Jason was not at all surprised when the attack comes. True, things had been light up until now, but seeing as that pattern had never held for him before he hadn't been expecting it to start now. The bird that descends from the sky is no ordinary bird, that much is apparent immediately. Jason steps forward, thinking maybe he can reason with the spirit--being part god himself--but the mighty winged spirit flaps his wings and roars in fury at them for what they have done.

Once again, his mark as Negotiator is going to be meaningless. Jason pulls the gladius from its sheath and prepares to do battle.

Jason moves to rush the spirit as he takes to the air, but from the woods a pack of wolves rush out from among the trees. They are followed by several other creatures, all howling and growling in anger, eyes slightly glazed as if they are under the spell of something. The spirit pulls up and away, circling in the air, and Jason realizes he is going to have to wait on taking to the air himself. He shifts his attention to the animals just as all hell breaks loose.

III. I Bring the Thunder: Fighting/Defending Against the Spirit
[Jason's breathing is hard, but he can tell he's not the only one nearing his limit. His gaze shifts up to the air. The animals on the ground will only be soothed if they can deal with the spirit. The arrows have done some damage, but Jason is determined to do something about it as well. He watches as the mighty spirit shifts in the sky and moves to dive bomb one of the Ophelia guild members.

The sword in Jason's hand shimmers and elongates, turning into a six-foot-long javelin. He hefts it up and hurls it at the bird. That alone would probably be enough to cause the bird to veer out of the way, but he doesn't just release the javelin. When it leaves his hand it crackles with electrical current and strikes like a bolt of lightning. There's a loud KA-BOOM as it strikes the bird's claws and the spirit howls in pain, flapping backwards and nearly crashing into the ground.

It's an opening and Jason rushes forward to join whoever else is willing to try fighting an over-grown bird.

IV. Wild Card
(I'm open to other suggestions and prompts. Hit up my plotting post or message me. I'm game for various activities along the escort mission or hanging around during the summit while Jason debates who to side with in the debate.)
