[He sounds a bit incredulous when he says it, straightening from how he's leaned on the railing. Their fingers are still laced together, which feels awkward now that he's standing straight. Momentarily, he looks around, and then back down at her.

Yes, he remembers Thrawn's reaction to hearing that information confirmed. He hadn't given it much thought at the time, but if he'd somehow managed to gain the trust of the Resistance without a fuss, then something was wrong.

Or perhaps they were able to trust him because they were so removed from the Imperial occupation. Were he not the son of two war heroes, he might have understood. In fact, a piece of him even wonders for a moment what a world with the Empire might be like. Would it be better?
