INTRODUCTION. It's difficult to tell time without the presence of a sun or moon. There are no stars. The world is in constant blackness, the heavens barely visible from below and the only light artificial. It's been like this for months. Get your shit and go look at the sky. Now's the time. If you need me, I'm around. It's time to get to work. OBSERVATION. Find the highest point you can and point the telescopes at the sky. Should be easy, right? |

[It wasn't any surprise to him. Whether she was a sorceress or a sorceress' apprentice, Sakura seemed pretty capable on her own--so, Ban didn't think much of looking out for her. It would be boring, after all.
It was just weird--her sort of magic.]
What about meee~? Can you sense any of mine?
no subject
I was just distracted before, you startled me, suddenly jumping up on my staff like that!
[It's half telling him off and half trying to explain why she hadn't registered his presence earlier. There is also the fact it's easier to pick up on magic when it is actually active, as well.]
no subject
[As if it was a proper apology, Ban reached down to pat Sakura's head. He found a good way to space his feet--distributing his weight a little more so it wouldn't be as strenuous a burden as before.]
I'm just bored and curious, missy.
no subject
[Is...this eleven year old telling off Ban? Quite possibly. Yes. But she's trying to keep the mission in mind and knows this is important! Even if he's petting her head and mussing her hair, causing Sakura to attempt to straighten it a bit more.]
no subject
[It was unnervingly cute when Sakura fussed at him, so he did his best not to tease any further.]
You're a good girl, though~. You'll cover the slack for me, riiiight?
no subject
[Anyone could. Well, unless they were blind or something. But she doesn't think Ban is, or anyone else she's met around here so far. So she may be giving him a bit of a look.
He's totally one of those that doesn't do their part and the rest of the group with group assignments need to pick up the slack, isn't he?]
no subject
[A bit more sober than he liked at that time, Ban returned Sakura's critical look with a grin.]
I get bad marks on that, already.
[He was the group member who was added even thought he never attended class.]
no subject
[Ban come on. You are being scolded by an eleven year old. Sakura considers for a moment, straightening up and readjusting her telescope.]
How about you help me then? We can take turns looking through the telescope and you tell me what you see?
no subject
It wasn't worth wondering. Ban gave her another ruffle in her hair, smiling wearily.]
Sure. I'll give it a shot.
[He was a stone in a river, worn down by running water over many years, but--Sakura just skipped happily over him.]
no subject
She hastens to attempt to straighten her hair, before passing him the telescope and attempting to get back to her notes, finishing her sentence he had interrupted her in.]
Okay, so just. Tell me what you see.
no subject
...So, he lifted the whole thing to his face and looked that way.]
Looks like a whooole lotta darkness.
no subject
[Because there has to be....something. Else why were they asked to try help and get a better look for answers on what happened to the sky, how to fix this?]
no subject
[He could at least try to guilt her into retreating...]
no subject
[But then. Maybe Ban is right. It is getting rather late, from what she can figure and vaguely tell from the clocktower in the distance.]
Did you want me to take you back down? Where are you staying?
no subject
[For the most part, he wouldn't break his legs even at that height--not that he had to tell Sakura that, lest he inspire a very normal worry in her.]
Next time, bring leggings.
no subject
[She's more worried about him getting down than anything else, but she does note the leggings advice. She's still in the process of gathering more clothes around here since she only arrived in one of the costumes Tomoyo had made for her. It's a work in progress, and it's hard to be sure what exactly to focus on with the weather, going to different worlds and all.
But she gives a nod of agreement, waiting for a moment for him before she would then head back down herself among the trees back to the clearing where she's camping with Graham.]
no subject
Don't stay up laaaaate~.
