tea with the demon and the witch [OPEN]
CHARACTERS: Sebastian Michaelis (
cutlery), Sieglinde Sullivan (
grunehexe), and YOU
DATE: Today?! I guess?!
WARNINGS: None
SUMMARY: Sebastian received tea and a teapot for his holiday gift, so what better way to use it than to share it? That, and it's a prime opportunity to socialize Sieglinde. It's lessons time.
[ Whether you received an invitation to come to tea or just happen to be an especially dedicated explorer, you're likely to find the local apothecary's first floor slightly rearranged. After a bit of bargaining with the owners, Sebastian had managed to convince them to allow for a small gathering. While Sieglinde's little apartment above the store was well enough, it was certainly not suitable for what Sebastian had in mind. He had received a gift of tea (earl grey, of course) from ALASTAIR, and not quite having a taste for it himself, well. He had another idea on how to use it.
It was perfect for a lesson for the young lady.
A large table is set up for tea, including a plethora of tasty treats all made by Sebastian himself. He won't be sitting to join, since it's not proper for a butler, but he'll happily stand to the side of the room with the teapot at the ready to give people tea as they need a refill. There's no need to ask, since he's a butler of perfect principles, so just as you seem to be wanting more, he's there to refill your cup.
In his mind, this is an occasion for Sieglinde to meet others and socialize with them, and he can gently give lessons on proper etiquette, but it might not be in yours. Feel free to strike up a conversation with the butler quietly playing host, though he'd much prefer you speak with everyone else! ]
ooc ; Welcome to a tea party! This log is OTA, so feel free to tag in even if you don't have CR with Sieglinde or Sebastian. He's too polite to turn people away, and Sieglinde is probably just excited to meet more people... Feel free to make toplevels and use this as a mingle post. I'll be responding to every toplevel at least! ♥

[ And he means it. A world without magic is something he can't even imagine. ]
At least you get to experience magic first hand here, then!

[ Sizing him up, Alice wonders if there's really any harm discussing Wonderland with skeleton. Children were fine, she could tell them because Wonderland was sometimes better suited with the stories she conjured. ]
Just as I said, you can create magic if you imagine it hard enough.
no subject
[ Of course, Rin had said she could do magic too, but two human girls in one place both capable of it?! What are the odds!! ]
no subject
[ Outside of manifesting into butterflies. Well, she supposes there's no shame in pulling out the vorpal blade while she's speaking of Wonderland, even vaguely. The silver-blue glint of the vorpal blade is something she holds out in her hands. ]
In a matter of speaking, this knife shouldn't exist. It comes from a world of my own, one that I made that was full of nonsense and contrary-wise. And yet, here it is, and bits of that world here, too. I suppose when everything went sour and I had nothing else, I was able to use it and... here it is, this knife.
[ And, for whatever reason, Wonderland itself manifesting through her, right before she left Moorgate Station. ]
And, of course, I suppose turning one's self into butterflies counts, but this is such a tight quarters, it'd be difficult to do so. The best example of it would be the vorpal blade, I suppose.
[ Just because Ban's tried taking it before, Alice slides it back underneath her apron. ]

But something about this one...
Papyrus forces himself to put a smile back on, and pointedly doesn't look down at the blade.]
I've never heard of turning into butterflies! I'd like to see that, when we aren't at such a formal party!
[The blade, he could do well to never see again. In fact, he even feels a little better when she finally puts it away. Don't worry, he's got no plan to steal it. ]
no subject
[ As someone who's spent the majority of her young life on edge, his unease doesn't go unnoticed and Alice already feeling guilty, starts apologizing profusely. ]
Goodness, I am so very sorry! I didn't mean to frighten you! Rest assured, I'd never hurt you.
[ How do you stab a skeleton, anyway? ]
no subject
Papyrus waves at her concern.]
Nyeh! Heh! I was simply- taken aback for a moment! There's nothing to be afraid of, I can tell you wouldn't hurt someone!
[Is he telling her, or himself? ]
no subject
[ Since she doesn't like to lie. Papyrus is far from a threat, for now, so he won't be subjected to the indestructible vorpal blade any time soon. ]
But you're far from it, so you need not worry, at all.
no subject
[But that's all he says about "those deserving." It's not an opinion he shares, but it isn't one he'll argue against either. One thing Alice doesn't quite know yet, but there will never be an instance in which Papyrus stops being far from a threat.]
I wasn't worried! There are many words I use to describe myself, and one of them is "dauntless"!
no subject
[ Never, in her life, did she imagine she'd find herself wanting to pat a skeleton's hand. Maybe because he's far from the normal that Alice feels just that comfortable with him. ]
Then I promise I won't ever pull it around you.
no subject
I told you, I wasn't nervous! Another word I would use to describe myself- ANTI-NERVOUS! I was raised on cannons, spikes, and bridges across large bottomless chasms! The pillars of my youth!! A knife is nothing!!
[ So why did it upset him so much...? ]
no subject
Bottomless chasms? That's very brave! And all in your youth? Where on earth did you live?
no subject
[ That's it, that's the very creative name they all called it. ]
I am quite fond of things involving perils like electric mazes and ice traps!
Surely you've experienced these sort of things yourself...?
[ It's what builds character in children after all. Human children, bone children, fish children... ]
no subject
[ Really, is it any better than "Wonderland"? ]
I've experienced far too many perils as it is, and I'm not even yet twenty years old. Nothing like electric mazes or ice traps. [ To say all of that has happened to her while in Wonderland is a bit of a stretch with all the technicalities of it being in her head. ]
no subject
Oh- so you've never...??
-Don't worry! I'll remedy this right away! I'm sure I can find a way to set up some kind of puzzle trap up while we're here! The Deadly Gauntlet, Version two-point-oh!!
no subject
[ Alice holds up her hands as if to physically block it. ]
I think I have managed just fine with jail breaks and castle storms, mister, I am fine with excitement, currently.
no subject
In that case, I'll make a less extreme puzzle for you then, how about that? Maybe a... word search, perhaps??
no subject
[ A giant executioner chasing her through the walls of the queen's maze is a start. ]
What is a "word search"?
no subject
Oh! It's a written puzzle, in which there is a series of words you must find, and they are spelled somewhere in the jumble of letters in a square arrangement. I don't particularly like them, but they at least aren't crosswords or junior jumbles.
no subject
[ She had a fondness for puzzles as a little girl; as an adult, she has more patience for them, now, especially riddles and the like. He is a lot like the Caterpillar, in that respect. ]
I loved them when I was little, if I had the attention span for them, that is. Truth be told, I think more of us can do with those sort of puzzles than what you suggested previously. They'd be less physically strenuous.
[ She's trying to say a "Deadly Gauntlet" may scare off people for different reasons. ]

I'm sure you'll find someone that will be interested. Though, if you need someone for "word searches", I will happily volunteer.
