YO, FELLOW THREE MONTHERS.

Sieglinde here will primarily be focused on helping the Nalawi learn some basics of biology/chemistry, with a focus on medicine! She'll try and train a group of natives willing to be healers and pass on what she teaches, (I'm thinking older or physically weaker Nalawi who wouldn't be involved in agriculture or fishing). How to fight infections, set broken bones, treat people in shock, stitch wounds, etcetera. She'll also be working to boost herbalism and use of natural plants and materials in medical treatment. She's useless on the physical labor front but she can lend help to agriculture with info on how to predict weather patterns, care of plants, and the like.

On downtime she will be gathering herbs for her own studies, chilling with her familiar Isengrim, contemplating stuff while soaking her feet in tide pools, and possibly waking up screaming from nightmares disturbing y'all.

If you wanna do anything in particular or just talk it out here, I'm game! Three months is a long time so let's bump this CR up!

graham is here and will help her as much as he can, though his interests are in different things.

he will make sure she has meals and check in on her and Isengrim. and take her swimming, now that he's not practically dead.

Laedo will be fairly busy with magical aspects of Nalawi infrastructure, but I think that he would understand that teaching the Nalawi a skill has the potential to be far longer lasting than a finite supply of magic, so he'd be down to help fly her to areas to collect herbs if she needs a hitch anywhere.

Graham here will be staying for the three extra months as well, and his focus is going to be on teaching the natives to hunt and fish to provide for themselves. That means building more traps, learning to hunt the animals in their native jungles, and also to plant and take care of their own food sources.

A big thing that needs to be accomplished is a fresh water supply, so he might try to get other recruits to dig a well! the natives brought the water to their village by their abilities, before, so this is a big thing they need to learn. More passively, he will be working on helping to rebuild an make sure there's enough houses, shelter, and furniture for the natives. Kinda a destructive few months for the poor things.

Other things he will have gotten up to include hunting with his wolf, swimming, and maybe making dinner for himself and recruits that wanted it. a handwavey dinner thing where they all connect and talk about their progress would be super cute. ignore the fact that graham is grossly vegan, whoopsie. I'm game to write stuff out, I am just slow at the moment (on hiatus)!

Laedo, despite his pretty sourpuss face, would be happy to help dig the well! He's a big old cat(ish)-shaped thing with wings so, adding an extra layer of armor over his hands, he could probably make some quick work of a fairly deep pit.

Alternately we could handwave some conversations between Laedo and Graham about his wolf family! Back where Laedo is from, one of his favourite humans had a daemon partner, in a sort of cadre of human/daemon pairs that rode through the desert, fighting crime routing out smugglers and kidnappers ahead of caravans... and since those particular daemons were sort of like big blue/orange catbear companions Laedo might try to draw some analogy. He could definitely understand if Graham was raised by them, though he'd find it strange that the wolf doesn't speak.

For the dinner progress, Laedo will be working on creating teleportation nodes between each of the islands, large enough for a family or a wagon of supplies to be ported through, with triggers given to the temple leaders. :I He's uh, probably still pretty 'Remember Nalanni, for she did it for you' so that might be a point of contention, but he won't be talking about that so much to the other recruits.

Kojuro is with you on the farming and water supply issue - he's less helpful with hunting just because he's used to horseback archery for that....

Gathers all the stay behinds around... Look 11 people hanging out together for 3 months means that some CR should be happening, right!!

ANYWAYS, Alisha's mainly going to be focusing on two things, rebuilding and POLITICS actually. For the latter that means helping them modify their previously existing government so that it can work without their gifts from the goddess anymore. Being scattered across over a giant chain of islands means that she wants to make sure that without their special powers, they can still remain unified and whatnot, whether that means just communicating with each other or things like how they'll remain together if they come under attack again in the future. Maybe she's helping with things like electing leaders or putting together a council or something?? Since their entire society was built around their powers including jobs and that probably means their original government members were there due to their powers... So she'll try to help them learn how to govern without them.... We can handwave that making sense right......

For the rebuilding efforts, she'll be working together with Edna! They can do a fancy fusion dance called armatization which basically means that Alisha gets to look SUPER SPECIAL while tossing rocks around like it's no big deal. Given that she was a completely normal human up until recently, so if anyone wants to ogle that feel free... Of course, she'll also be helping out on the regular physical labor front, and also teaching what survival skills she can.

Down time for her will probably consist of getting bullied by Edna (get ready for a joint prompt from them in the future involving a squirrel dance), maybe.... taking a relaxing swim...... Attempting to relax on a tropical island........ Basically Alisha is a workaholic with few hobbies, SO IF ANYONE WANTS TO HELP HER LEARN HOW TO TAKE A BREAK AND RELAX, NOW'S THE TIME.

But she will def. thing that it's good to teach them political things that don't rely on who has the strongest powers!!

Laedo would be quite interested in this: he's planning on building a network of teleportation nodes between the islands to allow families or supplies to pass between temples or larger towns, probably one per island. Since these nodes will probably need some physical token to activate, he'll be making a number of them, and perhaps working with Alisha to give them over to those leaders who are clearly in evidence.

Haise can probably help out with the relaxation business. He can logic it out if it comes to it - after all, if you're mentally/physically fatigued you can't put forth your best, can you?

Likewise he wouldn't mind being a sounding board for thoughts, though he'd leave the politics to her since Alisha seems much more experienced in that department.

Graham here will help with the rebuilding! Unrelated to Graham but Peter made a radio system so the islands could communicate with each other, so that's an option to keep them connected.

And she might see him with his wolf around the island, especially swimming.

Alisha already covered a good chunk of what Edna will be doing since she's the one who convinced her to stay...

AKA Build ALL the things! Or the foundations at least, since Edna's personality boasts a good chunk of 'Not Helpful', she's definitely not going to do everything. As an Earth seraph, she obviously has dominion over the element, think earthbender a la Avatar. She'll help raise pillars/stone walls etc, assisting in building/repairing damaged buildings, especially the big and public ones since priority goes to whatever establishment will be used/help the Nalawi as a whole most.

Also bridges! She can call up the foundation for them if needed, so a solid base for bridges linking Pu’ulai, Komo, and Nalalona may be a thing, provided that the distances aren’t too crazy. She’ll only do the base though, or at least for starters. Depends on how much work she can bully out of the Nalawi progress, she MIGHT help out a bit more during the last month or so too. Aside from that, she’ll be familiarizing herself with the flora more, since matter in Nalawi can have different properties than what they were used to, and coaching the Nalawi on other practical plant uses (i.e. “gunpowder” with those red flowers, back when they were making their own bomb) they may be less aware of.

…And since this is Edna, she’ll be spreading Normins in her wake. Ask those sewing/take advantage of kind Nalawi asking if there’s anything they can do for her in return, to make Normin goods (plushies and whatnot) and learn the fabled dance called Normincarena(TM). They'll even have someone to teach them how to dance properly! Edna is so thorough......

POTENTIAL CATCH-ALL BROADCAST?

HI HI SORRY i will do a write up of what olivia will be up to once i get home but i very quickly wanted to bring up something i'd mentioned to sieglinde-mun a few days ago—

how would we all feel about doing a recap broadcast once everyone gets back? i know the mods are now giving us free reign of when each character can return (it's up to player discretion, so not everyone will return at the same time) but i thought it would still be nice if those who had stayed behind gave a report to everyone else what went on! i know there are some characters who did not get to sign up who still care about the nalawi...

my point is! i volunteer as tribute to make the post! i don't mean to hog it at all (i'm more than willing to do a group post or whathaveyou) but it's my intention to sort of add in some important npc information that olivia has unfortunately been holding on to for a while now... d'oh. but yes! does anyone have any objections? suggestions?

Kojuro's focus is going to be agriculture, basic building stuff, and more general infrastructure-type-things. The level of technology here is more or less par with his canon, and he's used to helping run an entire domain so he's pretty at home here. He is also a pretty good cook, so he may help with cooking for the recruits staying on occasion!

Laedo's largest contribution will be a series of teleportation nodes scattered throughout the islands, focusing on religious themes that match Nalanni's palette, either with obsidian and fire opal patterns (they're made entirely out of magic; they're not really composed of that matter) or some combo of that and prism/gold like he uses for everything else. (Fire and pure light are sisters, after a fashion!)

These portals are intended as a means to quickly move families or supplies between islands to aid in the rebuilding effort, in trade, and in the event of natural disasters. He hasn't thought a jot about if the Nalawi splinter into different groups, but he will be giving plenty of lectures over the fact that Nalanni thought of them all as her children, a family that should work together... whether they stay united or go to war against one another, I have no idea. He placed the single token that Nalanni made in the large golden statue he made on Komo island. The rest will have been underway.

When he needs a break from magic spinning, he can offer his services to fly others between islands or deeper into the island, probably in exchange for cooked food, as he doesn't care to cook for himself and he doesn't like to eat raw things. He can shift into human form on occasion to help where needed, but he'll probably stay mostly in dragon form. He will be less aggressive than he was in the past, often muted in opinion, but he's still easy to rile up. He will definitely be interested in prying more information out of those staying behind because he wants to understand better who his teammates are, who he can rely on, etc.

Haise will, first and foremost, be interested in lending support to the other ten stay-behinds' efforts whenever possible. Teamwork's something he's always held as extremely important, and since everyone is driven to help improve life for the Nalawi, all those efforts are worth the time in his book.

When it comes to his own efforts, Haise will focus on self-defense and possibly a little on domestic skills. Since the gifts are no longer present, he can imagine the Nalawi might need to relearn a few basics around the house.

In his downtime he'll most likely be wandering the area, finding little projects for himself, and no doubt training. He might be away from the CCG but that doesn't mean he's about to get lax in the meantime. Gotta stay in-shape.

olivia will focus on teaching the nalawi as many domestic duties as she can, with an emphasis on cooking and sewing. she will help nalawi create easy recipes for the ingredients available to them, as well as work on helping them manage proper storage of these foods in the absence of things like electricity and ice boxes.

hey guys just as a note! i had ashraf signed up in this originally, but since i haven't had time for ooc planning, i'm gonna back out with him. he was never here, waves a hand vaguely

I AM LATE but as for Magnus, he will probably be together with Alec Lightwood most of the time and will also be warding or enchanting important areas and things that the Nalawi have, like their temples/healing areas/boats or whatnot, just to make sure they survive any future natural disasters.

Beyond that, I think in his downtime he'll help grant stuff that are not exactly essentials, but that will probably help them out since many of them are probably super bummed and need a distraction in between the rebuilding. So maybe small toys for the kids and art supplies, and he'll assist in getting their spa back up and going, too. (Relaxed people are happy people okay).

⚝ 01; TIDE POOL SOAK

[The waters of Nalawi's oceans are warm and comforting when they aren't wracked by waves and storms. Once a day Sieglinde takes the time to either limp there herself or commandeer a lift, having found a particularly good tide pool just out of reach of the waves with a low stone that served as a comfortable seat.

She can be found there around the same time each day, her unnaturally small shoes placed behind her in the sand, bandaged feet kicking slowly in the salty water as she stares out at the sea, expression contemplative.]

⚝ 02; PAJAMA PARTY

[Sharing quarters and life on an island of deer people for three months was something like an extreme bonding retreat... and you don't have one of those without a pajama party. Sieglinde herself knew very little about fun, or things people her age were supposed to enjoy, but she remembered somewhat how Rin had run things at the sleepover she'd hosted during their time in the Oska simulation, so. She'd have to do her best.]

So. I do believe we are supposed to now trade entertaining tales.

[Sitting upright in her long nightgown, her familiar curled at her fight, Sieglinde simply looked out at the others, blinking expectantly.]

⚝ 03; GODDESS NIGHTMARES

[Sieglinde might be more mature than most adults most of the time, but she was still a twelve year old girl. And as much as she acted as if the events of Nalawi, of Chantes before it, had not affected her... all that violence, the riots, the killing, the moral dilemmas... it haunted her.

She'd always had Masamune about to go to when it happened, when she woke up in the middle of the middle of the night covered in a cold sweat, gasping for air. But he's not here, there's only eleven of them in the house the Nalawi had lent them for their stay, and every now and then Sieglinde wakes up with a gasping inhale, narrow chest heaving as she stared into the darkness, eyes wide, one hand clasping her nightgown as she tried to remind herself.

The goddesses were dead. Ryba wasn't dragging herself from the sea to kill them all. The cultists weren't waiting to spring outside the room. Her poisons hadn't leaked out. It was just a nightmare.]

[Since his first visit to the tide-pools with Sieglinde, Haise has found himself drifting there a few times over. It's a quiet spot and it's interesting seeing the tiny marine life that lived in those shallows. Something to watch, even though his thoughts often wandered elsewhere.

It's after a long day of teaching Nalawi what he can of self-defense that he finds his way here now. He spots a small, familiar figure some time before he reaches the rocks, but he waits until she can easily see him to offer a wave]
